Master Yi

Master Van Tachi·5/3/2018, 12:13:02 AM·10 votes·3,503 views

27 kills in 25 minutes. Nothing you can do to stop him. He ults and gets a triple. A few minutes later he does it again.

Oh just CC him? Nope, he just uses Q to avoid any CC he wants.

Just hug your tower? Nope, he just uses meditate to tank any nuke or tower hit he wants.

Just kite him? Hahahahaha kite a Yi. Good one.

Just burst him before he kills you? How do you out damage one of the hardest hitting champs in the game who can avoid any of your nukes by pressing his Q? Obviously, you can't.

This champion destroys games. He is face roll easy to play and has virtually no weaknesses. He is way too strong plain and simple.

If you look at his kit you will find weaknesses. His Q has a 14 second cooldown minimum. His W is a channel and makes him immobile. If he doesn't get a kill within 7 seconds of casting highlander he loses the attack speed and movement speed steroids. His E can only be used to buff his basic attacks meaning he has to be in melee range to get value out of the ability.

If you played Yi you would realise there are times when you are very weak. The biggest mistake is players don't even use their cc abilities to blow his Q so he gets in melee range before they get scared "guess I'll use my CC now" but Yi Q's it after stacking Rageblade on the tank and 2 shots the ADC after appearing next to them, at everybody's surprise

Yi is fine, the champion isn't OP he was just fed in the game you're talking about. Any champion is OP when fed

That's why you gotta beat him early before he gets ahead in items. He's extremely dependent on items. And those items he needs tend to be on the expensive side. If you let the enemy Yi get ahead in items, essentially it is GG for your team.

Edit: Oh, and one more thing. item 3075 item 3047

That settles it.

We need to nerf Yi to the point where having 27 kills in 25 minutes only makes him slightly ok.

Rewarding someone for a massive lead is toxic.

If you let Yi get to that point, you probably have bigger issues then master yi

watch and learn

well he has 48 % WR with 6.5 % PR for a reason. If you don't know his weaknesses, play him and you will understand. And his Q is for dodging cc, he doesn't want to dodge autos with it. In above video you can see him not using his Q, he was waiting for jinx to use his chompers, but jinx had fleet and she can easily kite him with that even if he has armor and health its not an issue. And this is just 1v1, Yi gets destroyed in team fights, so much cc in the game he can only dodge some. if you are lux you wait for him to q and then use your bind. if you are lulu just polymorph him when he is ult coming towards you, if he q's onto you just press R.

So many things/champions in game directly fk Yi, Zhonyas guardian angel, jax, ww, vayne etc You just have to learn to waste his ult.

If you let someone that is a garbage ganker get 27 kills at 25 minutes you deserve to lose, end of story.

I agree with this like 98%. He is incredibly strong in low elos right now and he is an absolute nightmare to play against. He is literally always banned or picked in every single one of my games.

It's gotten to the point where if my team gets a Master Yi, then I'm basically like "lmao gg we win we have yi"

He doesn't even need to get fed to be good either. If he has a decent CS lead (actually, it doesnt even have to be a lead) and maybe an assist/kill or two then he is so hard to kill. CDR on his Q gets so low mid/late game too and unless you have Zhonya's then its gg. I have, however, found that the Zhonya's + Ekko's ult is pretty effective on him, but in reality that's it (even better if you hit the passive proc with your ult. Almost a oneshot on his dumbass).

Other than that I'm not too sure how to deal with him. Maybe have like 3 tanks in front of a damage dealer and pray his Q doesn't get to the high DPS champ? I mean, I guess lmao

Sure, he can use Q to dodge CC, but then he deserves that dodge, because he properly outplayed you. Youre complaining about being outskilled.

Actually part of the issue is that his Q has a way of getting next to NO CD by that last bit in it's text, "basic attacks reduce the CD of Alpha Strike by 1 second" When you have a passive that gives you 2 Basic Attacks every 4 hits, and you have a champion that already wants to get as much Attack Speed as they can, then you have a very easily reduced CD on Q. Removing that 1 feature from it would make his tower dives a lot less free kills for him and make it more a factor that he'd have to change out an item for something to get CDR, though it's easy enough to get max CDR on Yi by building an Essence Reaver or by building the usual build of Death's Dance, IE, Duskblade, Black Cleaver, Boots, Phantom Dancer.

That would give you the 50% crit, the 50% bonus Crit Dmg, and 40% CDR, bringing that 14 second CD down to 10 and with 3 strikes you get a total of 4-6 seconds off that, depending on Attack Speed and how many seconds, 2-3, it takes to make the 3 strikes. If you get Double Strike stacks from W then you have even less of a CD on that Q. With how it makes him untargetable it is a massive buff to his kit for being able to STAY under Turret and kill even most Tanks. If you could make it where the Turret still targets him, as he'd just done damage to a Champion under Turret range, but have it hold attack until his Q finished and instantly fire like it does when you step in front of your minions and get in range of it first, then you would have a way to defend yourself under Turret and keep his dives from being Staying In fights under Turret.

The odd thing is there is 1 champ that can shut down a Yi, however I have noticed 1 BIG issue with his Q. If you have a Teemo on the team and a Yi comes to him, Teemo fires his Q off to Blind, Yi Qs and the ALREADY FIRED TARGETED ATTACK connects, but DOES NO DAMAGE OR BLINDS. Now I can understand his Q dodging a skill shot, something that has to hit the Champion before Damage is dealt. However a Direct Targeted skill should still hit and effect as it was done before his Q was started, just like when you Flash but it still follows and hits you. Either add that same ability to Flash or take it away from Yi's Q.
