Veigars buffs

Like with all great works of literature, Im gonna start this off with a quote:

"his late game power is coming up a bit...well, short"

I'll let that sink in for a little.

Riot, how is a champion that has two one shot abilities late game bad? If you aren't playing a tank champion and Veigar hits you with his W or ult you can say "Goodbye frinds" because you are going to die. That doesn't seem like a "short" late game to me.

His other 2 abilities are a Q that does 3/4 of someone's health bar and a stun. The damage he outputs late game is extremely strong.

He didn't need any damage buffs, as opposed to champions like Lissandra or Taliyah. Does Lissandra do decent damage at any point throughout the game? And Taliyahs damage drops off majorly mid to late game.
