how do you play mao'kai?

i just played a mao'kai game where i had to play against an urgot. does urgot do well against mao? because every time he went in on me or i went in on him my health bar would just disappear. I ended up getting a solo kill on him but he literally fought me in my entire minion wave and still would have killed me but i got a lucky heal heal off and survived with like 10hp. I really like mao'kai and would love some tips on how to play him well. i took grasp and sorcery second for runes but in hind sight i think aftershock would have been better?

Leave top... just don't play him top... he gets destroyed by so many champs that it is not even closely funny... I suggest you move with him to support, easy W Q R and your enemy has barely no chance to escape and a possibly easy kill for your adc :D
