Swiftness Boots vs Mercury Treads

Ever since swiftness boots received their most recent nerf, I've always wondered which boots to buy and when. Here is some math I did in order to determine the effectiveness of swiftness boots vs mercury treads in terms of resisting slows. Hopefully you all find this information useful when determining which boots to purchase in order to combat an over abundance of slows of the enemy team.

I tested both boots against Nasus wither. I felt that this particular slow would serve as a good baseline to test the effectiveness of each pair of boots.

Note: The numbers in the charts are units of distance covered. A champion's movement speed determines the number of units they cover in 1 second of time.

Edit: Fixed the link, sort of. Just copy paste and remove the space between h and t

Why not Zil slow, its 2.5 seconds and a consistent speed. Wither on the other hand is over 5 seconds and builds up its strength. Wither would end on merc treds before it reaches its max slow. Making this a very situational slow that favors merc treds and a terrible baseline.

You should try it with a Zilian slow at rank 2, as it is 55% for 2.5 seconds, and a lot easier to do math on, rather than a slow that changes over the duration which may mess up calculations. Then you can rank his slow up to try it against stronger and stronger slows, including a 99% one, which is the strongest slow you can get.
