So how exactly is the matchups determined, because at level 20 I feel I should be going against 3 lvl 30s, one bronze 5 one bronze 4 etc etc. So I was just curious as to how the match ups are made.

Everyone has their own match making number
This value is dependent on W/L for the most part in normals Teambuilder will change this number more based on the champion you are playing (The more you play a champ the more it adds, if youre new to it, the number goes down.)
So what you go against is just people found to be "equal skill" based on how you lose and win against your opponents
Well, that sorta makes me feel better in a way seeing as how I was fighting bronze lvl players almost silvers xD
