The recent Solo Q bans. And What I think needs to be done about it.
So in Solo Q there are about 10-15 different champs that are pretty much Ban constantly because they are over tuned, or as some put it Over-powered. Well those champions are: Darius, Shyvana, Garen, Morde, Vayne, Skarner (which tbh never thought would be a constant ban), Master Yi, Fiora, Elise. That's 10 of the ones I see almost constantly. We look at that list and see all 4 Jugger's on it. Seems kind of odd as riot thinks "They are balanced" when really they are far from it. Darius is annoying to lane against, Garen never dies, Skarner is the king of the jungle, and HOLY SHIT DRAGON WTF! Morde.
Now what Morde doesn't buy that the rest do is
. This item is about as god-like as PBE Pre-nerf Kalista. Especially on Tanks who are building 2 Damage items like skarner does. This item eliminates the ability to stop an engage from one of them. Garen Q + Dead Man's +
= Go fast. Top that off with HG + TP and you can say good bye to anyone he catches out solo.
Now there is one singular counter to almost all Jugger's but she is on the list too. That is Vayne. Just because of her immense kiting ability and the ability to shoot them back at a super low CD is the reason she can deal with them so easily.
So what can be done? Well 2 things. One Lower the Damage on them OR remove either the Item or Extra Damage from
. The reason the Jugger's are so slow is because they can do a huge amount of damage while being tanky. Tanks shouldn't be doing the 100 meter sprint in under 9 seconds.
But what about the others on that list. Well Yi just got buffed via a bug fix. So the nerf to him would be lower the damage proc on Sated or make it require more attacks to activate it. But this nerfs a lot of other junglers too. Well Sated is in a really Bad place as it is. it basically says Farm for 20 minutes then come out and just wreck house.
With Elise well they are working on her. Which is good. Vayne on the other hand it stems from her early/late game spikes. Level 3 all in's are brutal with a blitz/Thresh/Leona. Someone really who can hold the opposing players down in lane long enough to get W stacks poped.
Fiora.... I have no clue as to what went on in the mettings leading up to her re-work. But Someone made a huge mistake. Dash, fine. Attack speed boost? Fine. Ripost that blocks Spells/Auto attacks and CC? What in the hell? Why was this even allowed? Seriously. Then Grand Challenge... An ability that grants her 4 proc's of her Passive stacking TRUE % Max HP damage..... What? Seriously? I don't get it. Fiora shouldn't be able to just nuke a tank like they are a piece of Wet Tissue paper.
How do we fix this? Well remove the % Max hp from her kit. That's step 1. That or Make it Physical Damage not true. So there is a counter play to it. Second is remove the stupid slow from her E. I would rather have her crit me twice then her slow me and get 3-4 more auto attacks off on my face. Which lets be real isn't hard with Double E Auto (slow for 1 second) Q > Auto > Q > Auto. Now if you are good with her, you E>R>Double Auto for the slow>Q>auto>Q>Auto and they should be dead or close enough another Q or Auto will kill them. Unless they are Garen... Cause then just hope and pray you aren't trying to duel him outside of a minion wave. E hurts.
Morde is the same thing. I have no idea with how to balance him. His kit is so odd now that it's almost impossible to balance him without making his kit feel weak as shit.
Shyv falls into the Sated Category. Nerf Sated you nerf her.
