Riven 53.99% winrate 10.90% pickrate: No nerfs in sight

TahmKench 42.40% winrate 2.01% pickrate. Nerf planned by killing his W (Tahm is now slowed like when taking an ennemy when he eats an ally.

I mean I know you balance the game around proplay, but seriously can we low elo 99% of player get some love too. That kind of move keeps me in my not giving a cent to RIot until I see meaning full changes in balance.

These are not nerfs. They are kit adjustments. You acknowledge that Tahm has a low win/pick rate, but did you ever wonder why it's so low? It's because his W makes him far too powerful in pro play. This particular aspect of his kit needs to be properly adjusted if you ever want him to be a strong pick again in regular play without being overbearing in pro play.

Nah it's just a western idea, riven has a sub 50% winrate on the highly skilled Jupiter server.

You don't balance a game around the worst players in it.

What buffs will he have in return?

we are at the mercy of korean overlords. if koreans liked it we are forced to. Rito made it clear they balance this game around korean players

They want to take the things that are non-interactive about his kit (saving allies for free) and put power into the rest of his kit. He even said on Twitter that this isn't the last pass for Tahm.

He's slowed while eating allies (he can still protect them, and Phase Rush + Switfies is still a thing he can do to mitigate that), but he gained:

  • A longer and more potent slow on his Q, with increased range
  • More healing and shielding from his E, and it no longer needs mana
  • Better damage on squishy enemies when Devouring them
  • A better ult in the late game

This is just the first step. I'm all for taking the one thing that makes him very strong down a notch so that the rest of his kit can be better. Squad5 said that the intention is for these changes to be an overall buff for Tahm. Don't make harsh judgments until the full list of changes is out.
