[A Noob Question] How to earn Blue Essence?

Hello, this question may be stupid but I'm really in the confused state. In before we had IP and on each game, we get some IP. After the update, we cannot earn BE for every game. Instead of in leveling up, we may get a capsule. In the capsule, we may get anything.

And here is my confusion.

  1. I leveled up and I received a champion capsule.

  2. I opened up, I received Janna and nothing.

  3. Added to loot.

  4. I have got few options on that shard.

  5. If I disenchant in to BE, I'll receive only 270 BE. If I want to upgrade I need 800+ BE

Then how can I earn BE? For leveling up we can get only 270BE?

Pre-30 leveling rewards aren't actually random. Less familiar with the specifics there.

Post 30 leveling capsules always give 700+ BE worth of shards, and milestone ones (every 10 levels, unsure if that includes 30) have around 2k BE worth of shards.

Disenchanting shards from leveling is the primary way to earn BE. This does mean that some of the more expensive champions will require you to level up multiple times to get enough BE to afford them.

700 blue essence is less than we would have received for 3 first wins of the day in the old system. this is pathetic.

according to the chart here: https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/developer-corner/hAaYMrEs-leveling-and-rewards-early-impressions-and-adjustments?comment=0000 Your champion loot chest should have had 725 BE of value in it, not 270. Were you talking about a different account than the one you're posting on?
