How can you properly maintain a lead in lane?

This post is the culmination of many first blood's I have achieved with summoner 14(Commonly with Garen ,Pantheon , andRenekton ) that have resulted in a lost game.

Here are my issues:

-Getting first blood while minion wave is in the middle of lane. This forces me to back since the enemy has teleport, resulting in a loss in gold and exp due to them pushing it into my tower.

-"Over-punishing" the enemy. What this essentially means is that I screw myself over by trying to punish the enemy when they go for cs as frequently as possible, for it results in a loss of cs and a trade for I tank excessive amounts of dmg from their minions.

-Desperately trying yet failing to push the lane into their tower(I do this so I can back without missing gold and exp). This results in them TP'ing back to lane and zoning me for the next 10 mins due them returning with an hp advantage(if I backed while this occurred I'd commonly miss 1-2 waves of valuable early game exp).

*Keep in mind this post is primarily intended for the top lane.

If you think its safe for whatever reason, or if you want to be greedy, you can just shove the wave before backing. Since they're dead for some time, then they got to TP. Generally you wont miss much if you shove the tower, preferably to tower.

Harassing well and still getting as much minions just takes practice

You can run into a bush to drop minion agro, playing around the bushes is a great way to take less damage from minions.

If you don't think you can push it tower, then just leave it. You gotta think about that before you start pushing it.

If you push it anyways, sometimes its better to just back and take the small loss, because you will miss minions from being low while pushed to their tower, and you could die. That's going to be 1+ waves of gold lost anyways.

My thought pattern is to clear the wave and then back every single time I killed them. Every time. If they tele back, so be it, they won't have quite the advantage you do, so just kill them again as soon as their minions are gone enough to avoid needless minion aggro if they overextend. Don't be afraid to clear waves as fast as possible when under your tower. Hold onto your CC when you do this tho in case they gank you.

If minion aggro is a problem, jump in and out of bushes. Not only does this funk with their ability to trade with you, but you also drop minion aggro every time you do, assuming the bush isn't warded.
