Feels like RIOT has done a much better job with champion thematics in game.

Illaoi, Kindred, Bard, Rek'sai have all been very map interactive while also including their respective champion's major themes. It is more absorbing and generally fun to play these champions, win or lose, because of their uniqueness and contribution to the entire map.
