Why does it feel like my solo q games have more on the line than the LCS
Call it subjective bias but I see more emotion in a typical solo q game than I ever see in the LCS.
When I see the pros lose a game they look like they just lost a game of rock paper scissors. Is there actually just nothing on the line or what happened?
Compare that to Magnus Carlson losing a chess match: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ta-8LU9EmaQ
Or Faker losing Worlds.
I guarantee if any NA team made it to finals at Worlds (completely by an act of God) that they would just have a look like they smelled a fart after losing.
Everyone used to say Faker is an emotionless robot but he was the real deal. He actually HAS emotions and profound pride in his play that he struggles to keep under control. NA's version of "no emotions" is just to not have them in the first place. No struggle, no pride, no drama.
Are these players really the best the region has to offer? I honestly think Riot's systematic extinguishing of all "toxic" behavior has neutered the region and made it sterile. Sure, everyone hates the toxic guy in the game but christ, at least the he cares.
