MMR makes zero sense

I honestly don't understand how mmr works in league. I was plat II yesterday. Won 8+ games in a row and got promoted to Plat I. But for some reason, I still have bad mmr and lose more LP than when I win. Lost one game at Plat 1 0 LP and I get demoted back to Plat II. Seriously? Win a game, gain 16 LP, lose a game, lose 21. Makes a lot of sense how my mmr didn't go up at all from steam rolling yesterday.

It only makes no sense because it's workings are deliberately obfuscated by the LP and tier system.

MMR changes more slowly than divisions once you have a lot of games. It makes sense that your MMR would be closer to your previous level than what you got after your streak.
