How do you carry terrible teams

Cawen·3/12/2016, 1:01:56 AM·3 votes·921 views

I was gold 1 earlier this season, and have lost game after game due to teams with zero common sense. If I play top, bot feeds. If I play support/adc, mid/top feeds. I feel as if there is absolutely nothing I can do to help my team out of their graves. I do well I would say about 90% of my games. It seems no matter how amazing I do, it gets counteracted by 1-2 specific people.
For instance, last game, I played Cassiopeia, won my lane by a landslide and made their mid laner practically useless. However top lost to a nasus that just sieged the base. Game before, I played Leblanc, gifted my team with a victory in a handbasket by going 12-1 and roaming to every lane for ganks. (their nexus was open at 30 min), our jungle then afks out of no where and we lose 35 minutes later. I honestly don't see how people climb rating in this game purely solo. I usually don't rage at people either. I don't say anything negative all game, then once I realize there is no hope in winning during the latter half of the game, I throw out some negative comments as to why we lost (eg. you have no map awareness ;why would you chase him half way across the map)

If anyone gold+ person wants to que with a solid player, let me know, otherwise probably on the road to silver from gold 1 ^_^ Soap-box over

Sometimes you can't carry teams, you just keep queueing and hope that luck won't give you the middle finger

motivational speeches. tell them in friendly manner, what to do. if you get fed, show your team you care about them. usually people listen to you then as you're their main scource of damage/tankiness (depending on champ). just use simple terms, like: group mid, push top, get dragon, etc. they don't want to know what to build or where to ward. focus on the essentials: tell you 1/8 Tristana, she doesn't need to rocketjump into a fight first, but just hit what's in range of her while you keep them busy.

there are lots of ways to make it easier for you to carry, all you need is a more positive attitude.

ps. in case you're paired with a group of premades, who feed their ass off... sorry, but none of the above will help here.. they only listen to each other and no matter what rhe rest of the team does, it's wrong and you get called out for X reports after the game. in this case, just mute and ignore them, report after the match and go on.

You have to play around your team now, not your champion. League of legends has become far less about getting such an overwhelming lead that you can snowball the game with, and has become more about working together to achieve the win. Unfortunately, a lot of players still treat it like it's a solo carry game still, or just downright don't really know how to win the game (Objective control, good rotational play, NOT tilting). They'll get there eventually

League of Legends has turned into League of Mortal Kombat, where kills are more important than cs. I suggest playing jungle. Reason for it so you can just camp every lane instead of getting cs, as jungle you want cs no doubt but helping your laners is more important. At the start of the game camp top as it tends to be the easiest lane to camp mainly because the enemy top only has 1 direction to run away from ganks. Once you give your top lane 1-2 kills or 1-2 assists they tend to be more team focused as they seem powerful and from then on be a real tank and create peel for your carries. Move on to mid and try to give blues early and often, I give up my FIRST blue to mid cause I tend to die for my lanes to get a kill, as jungler your main objective is to die for your lanes.
When I say Camp I don't mean sit in their lane 24/7 but if you gank and they blow flash stay near and get ready for another gank. In rank there is no love lost as you want to move up the ladder, mute everyone and do what NEEDS to be done only way to get out.

i play Yasuo mid a lot and as long as the adc doesn't have 8 kills by 12 minutes i usually have a fair chance at carrying the game. sometimes there are really just un-carriable games though and there really is nothing you can do about that. this doesn't happen every game though and i just think of it as turbulence on the way to make the climb more tedious.

last season i carried myself from silver V to gold V and this season it's silver V and now i'm sitting at silver 1 0 LP. lots of afks recently lol

you seem pretty cool though, so maybe add me now and once I hit gold we can queue together?

This is a common complaint I'm seeing more and more, I've come to the same conclusion as well from my own games.

Personally I feel it is because the ladder system is not appropriately matching players. Especially in light of now being able to pick your lanes. There is simply no excuse for players to be as incompetent as they are- at least in lane; and I consistently run into this.

I did a post on what I think the problem is in detail, and how I think it can be fixed. I'm looking to get support to see if we can get some attention on the post. I've had a decent amount of really good feedback, surprisingly, so far.

Give it a read and please give your input as well. :)

Sup so i was gold five last season and was surprised to find myself struggling to get back to gold, at first i was doing what you were doing and blameing the feeders but I realized something

I was playing like a bitch

Sure my KDA was positive, but at the end of the day i was doing no big risk plays, so as of late I decided to fix that

For examlpe earlier today when we were sieging against a tower while loseing I decided to do a ahri Charm Flash combo with a ult follow up, not only did I land the charm but we instantly nuked the ad carry as I then wreak havoc onto the enemy team with my ults and qs and charms, this play got my team the lead

This is just something I was doing wrong, I noticed I was simply avoiding risk plays and not being pro active, ask yourself "what did I do last season? what am I doing this season?"

If you find yourself in a lower elo then you were last season, then it is not the feeders, it is a change in your behavior. pint point what it is.

You can't. Just need to get lucky enough to have less bad players than the enemy.

"I honestly don't see how people climb rating in this game purely solo."

by maintaining a win rate that is above 50%.

If you watch high elo games and wonder how people are able to get to challenger, then that is actually a problem. You should be able to watch and learn from people who are better than you and be able to realize why they're better than you in order to improve. Game sense and mechanics are things people can usually improve on. Game sense being your map awareness, knowing when to gank/counter gank, when to take or not to take objectives, itemization, etc. Mechanics being your last hitting, laning, etc.

You can't ALWAYS carry every game, that much should be obvious.

Wow, this is the exact same thing that happens to me literally every game. The player mentality is at an all time low.
