I seem to be losing a lot more when I duo queue with my friend (he was plat last season). Right now I am silver 3 and he is silver 1. Is anyone else having this issue? I play by myself and seem to win just fine but when I queue with him we lose. Also, any general tips are welcome. Silver seems to be harder to win than gold o.o
Volgaria1 votesNot sure why this got downvoted with no comments, just asking a question. I mean actual duo queue, not a full group, two people. Also, when I say we lose more, like we lose a lot more. One point we were like 2-10. played a few by my self and was fine, went up 2 divisions (was silver 5, back to silver 3). Played with him again we are 5-10.

Out of how many games? Also what do you guys usually do? I mean, duo bot, or do you just both do whatever?
Ruin Lance1 votesout of about 14 games. and we only duo bot sometimes. most of the time he is top or mid and i am adc. usually works out well cause either me or him end up carrying.
KazaJhodo1 votesI think it is harder. I'm not positive of how mmr works, but I think it essentially gives you worse teammates to balance out the game or something. I'm pretty confused as to how its handled.
I would expect that a duo is matched with another duo of similar mmr, but it may just match a duo to a duo, and then the teams up to match the mmr as closely as possible. Which can easily create rather large imbalances.
I think the only good way to duo is if both of you are significantly better than where you are in the ladder. Its just my opinon.
I don't think the matchmaking system is very effective at the moment.
I have a post on why, and some ideas as to how I think it could be resolved. They're pretty extreme ideas, but I'm pretty sure it would work. Any input would be appreciated: Fixing the Ranked Ladder System
Volgaria1 votesDefinitely not significantly better than where I'm at :P I was gold 5 last season and in silver 3 right now, not a huge difference. I do pretty well each game (I think) but it does seem when I duo with him our team is significantly harder to carry.
