Suggestion for Ranked DC/Leaver post-Game Creation
Alright, so. Yea, I'm a little salty, I just came out of a bronze match (Because I'm a filthy pleb that can't ever climb out.) where our Jinx left the game. We had more issues. I fed Renekton a little early on, even though I wasn't trying to. Jungler wasn't making good calls, we never got any important objectives and couldn't capitalize on the ones we did have. But the most frustrating thing of all, is that I'm now on the brink of going to B5 because of this loss. Because Jinx straight up left.
Now, I know that if someone DC's before the game fully loads (Or more accurately, never connects.), the affected team can surrender after the game starts at about 5:00 or maybe even 10:00, I forget which. The teams go their separate ways with 0 LP loss. I'm not a fan of this solution, since it can be effectively used to 'dodge' a game if done right, and wastes the time of both groups. What I would rather suggest is, if someone leaves the game and doesn't re-connect within a 5-minute window, there's no LP loss for the game, and the opposing team gains REDUCED LP instead of full LP for a victory. Likewise, if you manage to win, you'd get a little bit more LP in return to show that you're all skilled enough to work with one player down. But no LP penalty.
I know this still has it's issues, and I don't expect Riot to implement it any time soon -IF AT ALL-... I just wonder how many other people agree that this would be a healthier way to treat DCs in a game. It can be horrible, especially when you're almost at demotion, or in your promos, to have someone leave or DC to ruin the whole thing.
