Diana was never originally intended to be an assassin; she was always aimed as a diving fighter, like Vi or Pantheon. In the past, she's typically built one-shot levels of AP, but she's always had an eye towards sustained damage. Nashor's Tooth has been core for ages, and the other items she likes/has liked (Rylai's, Abyssal Scepter, Rod of Ages, Protobelt, Zhonyas) do make her quite tanky overall, combined with her shield.

When people a) Don't realize that Yas wasn't the first champion to try to be a bruiser. b) Don't know the difference between tank and bruiser.

ummm "tank" (bruiser) diana has been a thing basically since she was released mate...

long before yasuo, fizz, "vayne", and... that's it? that's everyone "copying" yasuo? don't you mean those 3 copying everyone else? or do off-meta, and meta builds for that matter, not exist in league of legends?

I've seen tanky vayne before, building 1 or 2 dmg items, relying on her passive, and then going tank. Long before this Yas stuff. Bruiser fizz and Diana have been around forever, and theyre only ok anyway.
