All The Enchanter Mains Can (Probably) Agree With Me On This

It's almost impossible to play Soraka anymore, and Janna isn't doing much better. I don't know how to properly put it into words so instead I'll just list out points that I find are problems with these champions and ideas I have to fix them.

With Soraka, her laning is just awful. She has to sacrifice her on health to heal her ADC, which in the current state of League is already a death sentence, and the only way she can heal herself is by using her Q which can be seen way before it even hits and only heals her for 56 health at first rank. Not only will a single auto take all of this away, she has to heal over a period of 4 seconds, and anybody who plays Soraka knows, her Q is the second thing you max, meaning for most of laning phase she'll only be able to heal herself for 56 health. Secondly, her E is kinda trash, as a Soraka main I understand that it's used for its silence and not its damage, but the silence means nothing when it only take .5 seconds to walk off of it, and even when using the QE combo, it's still rare that that its root goes off unless you're ADC slows or roots them. Finally, her heal is more or less fine, the only issue is that it takes away 10% of your own health when using it with the added cost of mana. I get that Riot added the 10% mechanic to balance it out, but the number should really be lowered to 5-7%.

With Janna, it's plain and simple; her shield. The 18 second cooldown at first rank is just ridiculous, with the current numbers being 18/16/14/12/10 ever since her little mini rework during season 7 with Ardent Censer meta. Not only this but her base shield amount was changed from 80/120/160/200/240 to 70/105/140/175/210. Yes, she has a 70% AP ratio but that means nothing when the only AP items you get on her is Ardent Censer, and Remnant Of The Watchers depending of your build path, which only adds up to 95 AP with 70% of that being 66.5 AP. Using my typical build as the base, which I put at the bottom for anybody who wants to see, the total amount she can shield for currently is 345.6, and late game that's only about 2 autos or a single ability. Before the changes to her shield, she use to be able to shield for 383.1, and when it comes to heals and shields, that 40 difference means everything. All I ask is that revert the base shield amount to the original amount or at the very least increase it, and change the cooldown on her shield to 16/15/14/13/12.

In the current state of the game, where people constantly post on the boards about the ludicrous amount of damage champions do, with tanks being able to one shot you at a moments notice, and towers falling before 10 minutes, I feel like healers are some of the most important champions to look at right now. Again, I'm not the best at really explaining things.

This is my Janna build, I also get the Revitalize rune item 3069 item 3117 item 3107 item 3504 item 3190 item 3050 For the numbers I used to get the total shield amount I substituted item 3069 for item 3092

As an enchanter main it isn't that bad. With both Janna and Soraka you should focus more on poking now with all the free damage runes give you, and start leveling your utility abilities later. Aka start Q or W on Soraka/Janna and use those abilities to poke the enemy + AA (you'd be suprised how much damage scorch+aery does early). Spelltheif's is favorable on both due to the amount of damage in the game rn, with coin being generally gotten if you expect to afk farm under turret and not be able to fish for any Qs/Ws without losing a chunk of hp.

Problems specific to the champions: Soraka has more struggles now due to the amount of damage and burst, and the general unwillingness of a team to get a tank/frontline. That problem couples with her far less effective peel to create the problem Soraka has now. In lane try to W right after your Q hits so that the heal is increased by the rejuvenation part of the Q, decreasing the amount of health and mana you'll spend in the long run.

Janna also relies more on aggression now, so W start is recommended, and I said before, followed by either Q or E (depending on preference) and putting 1 - 3 more points in W, depending on how the laning phase goes. Your shield is far less reliable early, and as such, shouldnt be relied on until later (it still helps in mitigating damage though and every point of damage done or mitigated matters).

I felt the same way about both when runes reforged just came out, but after adjusting from the passiveness in laning of the Ardent meta to a more aggressive approach, playing both became easier. I would also recommend switching out Zeke's for Knight Vow, Mikael's, Banner of Command, or Zz'rot Portal, since your ult is usually used defensively, and you'll usually be behind the adc, and usually unable to auto attack (as often) since you'll be busy using your other abilities (and because your auto damage falls off unless you go full AP but you'll have to be very ahead to do that). Zeke's is better on Vanguard Supports such as Leona and Alistar. It can also be used on the Warden supports like Taric and Braum, but they usually have more difficulty getting to the enemy team (ofc, is the enemy team is one the engages on you then you can use Zeke's).

Jana is still one of the statistically best bans from Gold up, both in KR, NA and EUW. I think you're overstating the issue.

All the enchanter mains should probably start playing real champions.
