@Riot change ranked

I don't want to create a 5 page rant summary, but please just make baseline ELO for the next season start at Bronze 5 0 LP. It is insanely annoying playing with players who are only in mid tier ELO/ranks because of the free handout that is given to them by the ranked system. You're all for fun but there is no fun when 3/5 of your team have 0 game knowledge and can't play to the appropriate level. It is "un-fun" when you lose over half of your games because your team has no idea how to play correctly. You can't say, "They're just having a bad game." You can check all of their averages and history and you can see that they're prone to doing very bad.

Which also brings in the next point of removing punishment of losing LP and getting a queue time-out for queue dodging. It's very annoying that you have to suffer because you dodge queue when you know you're going to lose the game or you have trolls in queue. There should also be a leave queue option added to the game which is highly overdue for ranked. Surrender vote should be moved to 10 minutes instead of 20. It's a waste of time having to sit through 20 minutes of a game that's already over. Surrender vote should be fixed to majority wins so that it doesn't take 4 players to surrender. Being included to this is if at least 3 players vote with 2 saying yes while one says no, but the other 2 players don't vote, it still goes through and ends in a surrender.

I have to agree with you 100%. Everyone should begin the climb at the** BOTTOM, always.** Not someone who got lucky last season and got into a slightly higher elo that season (say Gold V- Gold III) and so when he/she played their placement matches this season they were placed in a higher elo (Silver I - Gold V) avoiding elo hell completely, only to then eventually fall back down to elo hell because their elo was not correctly calculated. While the players who are truly playing thousands of games and are legitimately trying are stuck in bronze/silver because they weren't given a starting lead or they messed up their placement elo previous season.

I had a friend who was legit bronze 1 and did not try at all every game and fucked around every ranked game because he deep down didn't enjoy the game and only played because everyone else did. He then got one of our other friends (Who was diamond 1 and Challenger in 3s) to boost him to Gold 5. Then the next season he didn't play any of his placement matches instead asked the same friend to play them for him. Naturally the same friend won all 10 and he was placed in Gold 4. From there he didn't play a SINGLE ranked game until the next season started and again he asked our friend to carry him and again he won all 10 placement matches...Do you know where he ended up after? Plat IV....Pretty sad isn't it.

While I'm sitting here grinding thousands of games only to realize half my team is either boosted, or legitimately new players playing their placement matches, or a smurf who was banned for being toxic and now polluting under a new account, or a player who was much higher elo last season but is on a losing streak and is paired with you, and I can go on and on.

As for the dodging of queue. I would have to agree, you should be able to dodge without LP penalty (The time penalty is fine) because as you said clearly, a lot of people troll and you end up losing the game before it even began. Not just troll but plain outright make horrible decisions in picking. Say we need a tank and the support goes Janna...Say we need CC and the jg goes Shaco. It's infuriating watching these people and they get in game and naturally lose hard and then if you say anything they yell at you for being "toxic". Yes it will take much longer for a game to start if this was implemented because everyone would dodge until they have the right composition but THAT'S THE POINT! Why would anyone want to play with a composition that would risk losing them LP in a RANKED game? What we are just suppose to sit there and take it while our team trolls or makes bad decision?

Also the surrender vote is also something everyone has been begging for. 20 min is way too long to wait for a surrender. Some games a lane is so snowballed that you can't do anything and are just sitting their waiting for the 20 minute mark to arrive. The second thing is if 3/5 people want to surrender then they have already given up and their morale is already broken and just want to move on. You can't force these people to play. They will just not try and pretend to comply out of necessity otherwise risk being banned. And if you do try then it takes over 40 minutes to MAYBE pull out a win and that's assuming the enemy team does not throw. How often does that happen? And if you do lose after spending all that time then you feel even more crushed because then not only did you waste so much time fighting a losing battle but you could have just forfeited moved on and may have earned those points back within the time you spent losing. Not to mention the fact that 3/5 is a majority...If Riot can't do basic arithmetic how do you expect them to properly adjust the elo system...

Haha no worries bro. Few are those who see with their own eyes and feel with their own heart.

Few are those who have no idea of the game and blame other players and the elo system and the whole game for stucking in an elo. And few are those who don't get it in their heads that they are the only reason for climbing the elo ladder or stucking in an elo. [zombie-brand-facepalm]

Considering more than half of the ranked players are in bronze/silver elo, which obviously comprises of a "few" players right?

Oh and yes its hard for those "few" people to grasp the idea that they would be the only reason they are in a certain elo considering the game is comprised of a team effort and individual skill is only a portion of the factors leading to victory....

And everyone above silver was just lucky with their teams or what?

They may have been lucky or they may have been boosted or maybe dedicated their entire lives to the game. For the most part many people don't have time to dedicate to the game that much. Does not necessarily mean they aren't "good", just may have other commitments. When over 60% of the ranked population is in the 2 bottom elos than their is an obvious issue.

On a side note, why do I get the feeling you were boosted? Season 3 > Bronze, Season 4 > Silver, Season 5 > Plat...

Woululuu1 votes

It's not an issue. It's just the average elo.

Damn you got me. I'm boosted. Boosted by practice, by hard work and giving my best to climb

The madness is strong in you

ViciousSummoner1 votes

Madness as in anger or madness as in insane? Still you wouldn't like it if you go straight from G4 99 LP to G5 bouncing between 0-20 LP because you keep getting team mates who play like they've just picked up the game.

I had the same feeling when i was on Dia 5 98lp than I dropped down to Dia 5 0lp, lost more lp than I gained and it really felt like I always got terrible teams it I wasn't the reason for not getting out of Dia 5. But that is bullshit, you just don't want to believe that you are the reason for it. It is sometimes hard to say to yourself you aren't good enough to climb higher, but you need to get that in your head and focus on yourself. I did that and now I'm Dia 4 52lp and lucky about it that i reached that Point and did all by myself. Maby you give that a try and look on yourself and not on your team mates ;)

I know when I lose games because of my own choices. I know when I lose games because of team mates. I'm posting this because I feel strongly about this. I'm not some egotistical player who thinks, "I'm the greatest. I'm so good. You're all trash."

Okay cool

So if you could freely que dodge with no penalties then people will just keep dodging until they find a comp they don't mind versing (I mean come on que times are long enough as it is).

Also a game isn't over until the nexus hits zero, seriously you should see some of the comebacks that are made, better try and make a comeback ( wait it out until the enemy slips up and you can take advantage ) then to go GG game over because we've lost 2 turrets.

2 people shouldn't have to lose LP because 3 want to FF, the 4/5 at 20 min mark works just fine.

Here I am a bronze three and yet I'll still say it, if your not climbing it's not due to these "issues" it's because by the sounds of it you give in too easily (Personally I can't climb because I'm terrible at the game)

Queue dodging with no penalties would be fine. When you are in a state that you know you will absolutely lose even before the game begins why should you be penalized for not wanting to waste 20+ minutes? I mean it's ranked for a reason you play to win.

About comebacks no I mean situations as in the game is legit over. A situation in which the enemy are so far ahead and they rotate and take objectives and you just can't do anything back. It's hard for people to realize that a game is over because of that toxic mentality of never give up never surrender. You need to learn how to give up and surrender because if you just keep making the same mistakes over and over without learning anything from it you won't ever climb.

I've been in bronze so don't worry. Heck I was stuck in bronze for 2 years. After that I made it to silver after I played to improve my self. I was stuck in silver for 2 more years but that was due to casual play. After that I climbed to gold in less than 2 weeks. Now I'm literally stuck in this black hole of new players/inexperienced players. I've been demoted back to silver 1 and made it back to gold 3 times over now. Sure you can't see the situation I'm in because you've not climbed yet. To put it simply just imagine you get better and you climb ranks and when you finally make it to gold poof. It's like you're playing with bronze players all over again.
