Item building blocks

Just a thought about this kind of build pathing. Kinda strange why this never happened. I get that it would make building these really big items incredibly easy but just feels like they're not gold efficient that way. rejuv bead x2 + 40g = ruby crystal(400g) faerie charm x2 + 40g = sapphire crystal(400g) Longsword x 2 + 155g = Pickaxe(875g) Pickaxe + Longsword + 315g = BF Sword(1550g) Amp tome being lowered to 400-420g for new blasting wand to make Amp tome x2 + 10-50g = Blasting Wand(850g) Blasting Wand + 400g = Large Rod(new 1250g value) or if large rod stays at 1600g Blasting Wand(850g) + Tome(400-420g) + 330-350g = Large Rod(1600g)

item 1006 and item 1004 can't build into either item 1028 or item 1027, but the rest looks reasonable and would make shopping a lot easier.

I like the suggestion on Pickaxe + long sword building into BF sword, and blasting wand + tome building into needlessly large rod. It would make the build path so much easier to transition into the bigger items because we cant always save up 1550/1600 in one trip and having items build into them would help. However, the rejuvenation bead and faerie charms building into the respective items wouldn't work as the first items give regeneration and the second items give the actually HP/MP Also they are so cheap already that the change would not be as impactful as the bigger changes.

The problem is that it's intentional to have certain champions have a weak moment before they purchase something like BF sword.

Yes, that is true there is the intent of not allowing champions to easily spike. However, even with this you won't necessarily spike in a way to where you'd be out of control because there will be no changes to base damage and values in these items. Longsword is 10 AD while pickaxe is 25 AD. Putting the math in simple terms 10x2=20<25, so nothing big there. 25+10=35<50. No problems with BF Sword having that build path. Amp tome 20 AP x 2=40 blasting wand's value. 20+40=60<80 which is less than the current live AP of large rod. While new rod will be 60 ap the adding values would give to equal just that. There is no spike when you look at the math. Everything is still consistent and exactly the same only difference is you're more gold efficient.

Having extra 20 ad / 40 ap is a huge deal, especially early in the game. The fact that there's no longer a spike is the problem, because BF and Needlessly large rod (and the items they build into) are balanced around bringing downtime before that spike. They build into the most powerful carry items that this game has, and building them is hard intentionally.

Yes, I do know that that is Riot's intention of keeping these powerful items suppressed for as long as possible throughout the game. For the numbers part it's not 20/40 it's only 10/20. It's too hard to put into words right now, but I can assure there is no out of control spiking. This is just pretty much the same as if you only had enough gold for those 2 items and you bought them and then later gathered enough gold and sold the items to buy your original item of choice.
