With the current mmr system, how is someone expected to climb

So first of all, I went on a loss streak and now im not playing my be4st, admittedly. But how is someone supposed to climb losing 23lp and gaining 13? With two wins and one loss you lose 69% of your progress. Good job...? So I got unlucky for a bit, lose all my chances to climb, now my only chance at climbing is dropping from plat once more, then promoting and hoping i can get 17lp a win and lose 15 once again. Literally feels so hard to stabilize before i demote.

You have a sub-50% win rate and you're in plat. The system being flawed was clearly a benefit for you.

I don't think its all that complicated once ya learn about Elo and MMR.

Ranks = a Range. Like, When it was Visible in S2 Silver was 1150 and 1499 then it was further broken down so that the Value was 70 Team Elo points for 1 division.

With Riots "League system" (LP system) Ranks serve as a Delayed movement on ladder that is reactive to your hidden MMR, Going off OP.GG. What you see is that LP gains Slant to match averages. You for example Play a match average of Gold 1 for a majority of your recent games and are seeing a Slant to move your MMR.

This is a logical way to move players to the correct rank, thou the MASSIVE demotion protection for Division 4 throws it off. Basicaly, If you hover at or close to 50% Your Rank will end up matching your MMR range as Ranks have no meaning with out representing a expectation of skill.

Again, Demotion protections very high as riot wants to protect egos. In Riots Old Team Elo, or in MMR systems where Rank is directly tied to your MMR balance, You would have demoted from Plat to Gold when your balance moved into Golds Range.

I think its funny whenever I see posts like this on boards. Totally just dismisses the idea that, yes, it is you're fault. There is a reason no big personality or player talks about LP Gain / Loss like its an issue. The same system you are talking about lets people skip elo divisions.

You have 1800 games with a literal 50% win rate. That is very much on you, not the system. Taking a look at your opgg, your loss streaks are bigger then your win streaks.

For example, lets say you lose 6 initially, then you win 2 games, lose 1 - and you repeat that pattern for 20 games. You end up 10-10. Although yes, you have a some wins that make it look like you should be climbing, the loss streak dropped your mmr really hard. Thats not a problem thats what it should be doing.

Season 9 made silver the new bronze and gold the new silver. Diamond was effected but not as much as the other divisions. Don't be upset if you are getting stuck in plat, P4 is the top 10% of the user population and P1 is the top 2%. Its not an easy climb.

If you actually were able to go on a loss streak long enough to drop your MMR that low, then it'll balance out again when your rank balances out with your MMR and then with enough wins you'll gain positive MMR again

The real issue is when you lose a ton of LP because 1-2 people on your team rage quit due to losing their own lane before 7 minutes. Or they tilt and intentionally grief the game away from that point on while spamming FF because they weren't the one to carry this game. Orrrr you're unfortunate enough to be in a game with someone with zero intention to play the game at all and they d/c or troll until FF or GG.

My winrate is determined by myself and the other 4 random people on my team. If I ping and then and my team decides to continue on with severe disadvantage anyway I mean... As a support main there really is only so much i can do about carrying a game with vision and whatever I can even afford after the support item changes. It's a big reason why I don't like the mentality behind supports being so handicapped compared to every other role in this game :\

I really wish that my individual performance mattered a lot more than it does. And I REALLY wish that there was a faster and more severe punishment for players who troll ranked games, costing everyone a lot of time and effort for their own amusement.
