Why I'am getting One Shotted with 7k hp 188 magic resist and 188 armour as full tank Cho'Gath......

Everytime I go top I auto lose lane to anybody that has the new "Nerfed" Conquer I main Cho'Gath mostly and I don't understand how Champs with this rune are tankier than me. Why Does Grasp Work Better On Ranged Champions than Actual Tanks. It sucks. God Forbid if Janna Goes Top Lane With Grasp, Not a Dammed thing I can do in the world to kill her as Tank Cho'Gath. Then If you build AP, every one can oneshot you just as easily, I don't get it. It's like Riot doesn't want tanks in the game, then I get my teammates yelling at me "BUILD TANK BUILD TANK" What does it matter The Vayne does 70% True Dmg. Does any one Feel My Pain.

You aren't getting 1 shot as a 7k, almost 200 armor and mr anything. There's no champion that can do that, unless you're spending like several hours just letting a nasus or veigar farm.

I was going to chime in and offer advice but I can see you just came here to point fingers

so I'm going to say this and I'm going to be as clear as I can you have a 47% winrate on chogath in bronze, and every time anyone gives you advice you say something like an excuse

if you have 140+ matches in bronze and you're still bronze then you should listen, because statistically the average player is better than you, and 75%ish of the playerbase is better than you

even if onetricking the worst champ in the game an average player will be silver at the least

cho is rather decent, listen to all of the amazing responses here and maybe learn more about itemization. First off you're going the same build every game and I'm pretty sure that archangels is terrible on cho, like extremely terrible, like pointless

like build a randuins instead

like build an iceborn instead if you really need mana

build a luudens instead if you really need the cdr

The real question is: If you have that much HP, then why didn’t you one-shot them?

Was your game three hours long and the enemy had a Veigar with 8000 AP?

Did you build item 3075 ?

Asking because you mentioned yi in a few of your replies.

Its unfortunately required for hp tanks since you are basically just living healthpots for auto attackers like yi who can use your hp against you to out tank you and shred you.

God help you if the enemy can heal off of you using abilities......riot really needs a better grevious wounds item for tanks....against kayn I would go as far as getting item 3812 since it reduces the direct damage from his abilities by a third (and by extension his healing off of you by a third) and converts it to a dot which I assume wont heal him....

All because im desperate to not heal him...

Your builds on Cho'gath make me cringe. I'm sorry but that's literally 100% of the reason why you even started this post, because in your games you'd get shredded and wonder why that'd happen, when it's simply because you're not optimizing your items for him. Obviously in certain matchups/situations where you're super ahead I can understand going AP after 1 tank item or building a certain item, maybe even just trying out whacky builds but to not understand how building a certain way then correlates to how that affects your champion, such as all of a sudden being super squishy and useless (as AP Cho's tend to be if caught out/cc'd and bursted) well please don't blame that on anyone or anything else but yourself.

I feel you, buddy. The delta between damage and defense is insane right now, to the point where building tank is almost never the correct answer (but offtank is still better than full damage on these champs).

There is no way you are getting one-shot. Chances are you are giving your laning opponent ample opportunity to harass you and whittle you down. Then, you try to CS and because you let yourself get poked to death end up getting ganked or solo killed. You have to know when to concede and not push against certain opponents and when to spot aggressive behavior and punish it accordingly. As Cho'Gath, you should be taking grasp top and the amount of damage you deal is based on your maximum health, meaning a grasp proc mid game will hurt significantly more. And if you find yourself struggling against an opponent, ask for help and buy corrupting potion.

You are clearly doing something wrong if you are struggling to hold lane as Cho'Gath. Go back through your replays and watch your positioning. You need to have enough game knowledge to know which opponents you can be a little more aggressive with and which ones you need to cede the lane to. Cho'Gath is one of those champions who sucks pretty badly early game but has a lot of kill pressure at 6 and scales really really well into late game.
