she has some hard counters that can make her literially useless

especially for example

Diana, malzahar and lissandra all shut her down even when behind

katarina

Kindred, Alistar, and Maokai/Poppy are probably your best options.

Their disrupts/denies are constant and easily used (don't require skillshots), with the exception of Kindred, who will still ruin your life. Also, they are common picks.

Those are probably your best bans if you want to use Kat.

However, keep in mind that if you're patient with Kat vs Kindred, you can sometimes get pentas after her ult wears off, due to how it works.

lissandra. You literally can't do anything against her.

Swain, kindred, malz, GP, Naut, but the only viable bans are swain and kindred along with GP the other 2 are pretty bad even though they still beat katarina.

Lissandra, Malz, Galio, and especially Diana all shut down Kat with either their ultimate or non-ultimate abilities. Just see who's being played the most in your elo and ban them. But try to not pick Kat first. Only first pick if you're extremely confident in your abilities to stomp lane.
