@riot new in game chat option

After a recent punishment by riot I did some deep thinking and pretty much replaying a lot of my recent games and getting my chat logs did help a lot with changing my attitude a bit. And during this deep thinking an idea popped into my head and I shared it with the riot employee and the person thought I was a really good idea and should share it on this board.

The idea goes as followed: During a game of league a lot of things said are in the heat of the moment. Everyone has ran into this situation before something terribly going wrong and in a split second of rage you say something in chat and before you have the chance to erase it you press enter and boom you just raged at a teammate and depending on the person or your other teammates or anyone who is friends at the person you just raged at you might get reported. Ive done it plenty of times that heat of the moment rage, it sucks it really does. What if that can be changed. Riot can get us to change our attitude with the penalty system but nothing can ever change that split second of rage we get on certain games especially if that game is a promo for whatever rank and your teammate just blew the whole thing by trying to be a hero, it happened in one game and I let him have it. Something I'm not proud of at all. However back to what I was saying This all can be avoided by riot adding 1 option in game or on the client that will effect in game chat.

The idea I shared with that riot employee is adding an option that stops you from writing in chat. This option would still allow the chat box to show up, clicking enter will still allow you to move the box. However, when it comes to typing in chat it blocks it some how. Depending on how riot will work set it up. They might let you type out whatever you wanted and when you press enter it doesn't show or it just doesn't let you type at all. This option will save a lot of people from saying things they could regret or they will just save until post screen and just reported them after what they say. This option can improve the game, like I said above a lot of things said in game are in the heat of the moment so adding this option can stop teammates from tilting each other and just cut out all of the other useless talking that is not about the game at all. It would be awesome if the option was in the in-game settings but I can see just as many reasons why it should only be accessible from the client settings. This idea could be a very good punishment as well. Use this idea instead of the chat limitation you have now or use both 1 for worse punishments depending on the player and the other for lesser punishments. I just want to help improve in game chat.

Hopefully plenty of people can see this idea as a major improvement to in game communication, I know this idea might get a lot of negative comment for stupid reasons but I don't care I'm sick of people loosing honor because of heat of the moment weakness

P.S: I tried to add this to the Miscellaneous board but it couldn't find it, or it wouldn't upload so I'm adding it here. Sorry if anyone see's this twice

how would this even work in the first place and it if it did work then toxic players would just exist as trolls instead and we all know how riot doesnt care about trolls

honestly its not a perfect idea, nothing ever is. But this option is mostly directed at stopping people that type stuff in the heat of the moment. And trolls just will be trolls that's all that can be said. It could help toxic people from loosing their accounts all the time, I'm not to sure.

Misc. was removed/merged with GD, so if you have an off-topic discussion (or if you want the GD culture in your post even if it belongs on a specific sub-board) you can post on General Discussion. Discussions about behavior in-game and the systems around it such as this are appropriate for the Player Behavior board, so you can post there (Gameplay mods may remove this post and redirect you there).

Anyway, while I do sort of think it's a good idea to have an option to block your own chat, Riot Tantram (he writes the Instant Feedback System) told me he's actually against it, or at least the way I proposed it as a self-imposed chat restriction.
