Hey Riot, Me again. Let's talk
You know, I've been playing this game since season 3. That's a long time. I've had fun, and honestly? I don't even mind the meta shifts or the shifts in Core gameplay that have been coming. It's made the game refreshing, fun. I was even anxiously awaiting Akali's rework. It looks entertaining as can be.
I do have an issue though, and it's a little bit of a big one.
I got my Computer in 2009. That's right, it's Nine years old. Yet, it still works pretty dang good.
Except...
For when it comes to your game.
Minecraft? Just fine, even Modded packs give me only a little lag issue from processor power. Heck, for a while I even played Overwatch on it, and Heroes of the Storm. That's how I know that it's not as much of a "Just my Computer" issue, and in part, something to do with League of Legends.
Just so we're clear:
Yes, my computer is old, and while functional, it's still due for an upgrade. I'm not disputing that in the slightest.
However, ever since you Updated your client, I've been seeing Massive lag spikes, immense ones, normally followed by my Computer disconnecting from my network without warning. More recently, I've hit lag-spikes into the 15-20k (That's 20,000) regions. Followed by Reconnecting, except.
The game's frozen. I can click on individual champions, turrets and even minions, and see their stats and items and such, but no tool-tips. There's no Idle animation, and trying to get a screenshot just gives me a Black, Blank screencap. Now, admittedly, I live in a pretty inopportune location, Northeastern North Carolina. I'm super-far away from your fancy-pants Servers in California, and still quite a bit distant from your Stopgap hub in Chicago.
I love this game, I've spent money on it to support it. Heck, my most recent purchase was the best skin (RP-buyable at least) that you've released in a while (Resistance Illaoi, Gotdang do I love her, thank-you to whomever designed that skin!) But...I'm not sure, I just don't think that this game is (Functionality-wise) in a state in which I can play it on my Home PC.
So, for the time being, I suppose, until I save up enough to actually buy myself a newer model of PC, or just upgrade my parts and pieces, I'll be leaving the community. I just...I don't have the patience for it anymore. It hurts, really, since this game was the one thing that I really enjoyed doing after work, but I'm completely of the belief that my computer has begun to treat your game's data transfers as a DDoS attack, and that's hurting my ability to play.
So hey, @Riot. Catch you on the flip sides dudes. It's been a blast, and here's hoping you're still around in a few months/years when I can afford a newer, better functioning PC.
