Syndra vs Urgot Midlane Help?

So I'm just learning Syndra. Been practicing a lot on my aim and how specifically I combo.

Anyway, last game I played with a very toxic team against an urgot midlaner.

Urgot is insane. He has his passive, so every time you get hit, your damage is debuffed. His Q slows on top of that. His Grenade/Corrosive charge is fast, has no icon on the ground where its going to hit, and once hit by it causes pretty much secondary abilities on EVERYTHING. being slowed, and his Q then homes in, on top of slowing, and reducing damage.

I imagine Urgot uses his grenade, then sheilds and pokes, to reduce your damage, armor, and speed, then swaps with you with his ult to gain increased armor and magic resist. I would build armor, but that doesn't actually HELP. I imagine mobility to dodge his skill shots (but his Q homes in on targets, so that's difficult. All you can really do is dodge his grenade...)

So how do I play against an urgot? Especially as Syndra?

(Had a very good game against a Zed, that was satisfying. Denied him CS and got a kill after getting ganked early game, and managed to out play him despite that)

Whelp, I'll be honest here: Glad Urgot got buffed to viability. Now there's irony when Syndra beats Zed but finds Urgot unstoppable.

I can't help you, but good job on asking how to beat him instead of claiming he's OP and doing nothing. You'll keep climbing with that attitude!

But seriously, good luck. Urgot is a monster.

When you see him use his shield, break it. It'll stop the slow.

Urgot can only fire three shots after hitting you with the grenade. Keep that in mind, and harass him back.

Get boots really early. Luden's Echo helps too, since it gives you more movement speed to dodge the grenade.

Armor does help, albeit only a bit. Try buying Health Potions when you back.

Ask for ganks. Ping "Assist Me!". Urgot is not mobile, and is very weak to early ganks. Burn his Flash, then call for another gank to kill him.

If Urgot hits you with his E and you start running away odds are he will run strait to you to stay in range, this should make it easy to Q, E him to minimize his damage and trade some damage. There is also a casting animation when he launches his E, so just immediately walk in the opposite direction you were currently going and there's a good chance you'll dodge it. Then you're free to harass him while that's on cd

Honestly, Urgot counters Syndra pretty hard. To play against him you have to dodge his E at all costs and work around his W CD so you can try to outtrade him. If you are consistently losing trades though, just sit back an farm. Syndra can farm very well so focus on that and think about roaming to get kills. Be careful though as Urgot can take down towers if you stay gone for too long. Look to hit Syndra's stun when Urgot's debuff isn't on you and immediately use your ult. If you wait to land more damage before you use your Ult, Urgot can attack you and lower your ults damage by 15%. So go for the sure damage on your ult, then use your other abilities to try and finish him off or scare him away from lane. That's my advice, but as I said; Urgot counters assassin type champions. I know Syndra isn't technically an Assassin, but she behaves like one in lane when she has her Ult.

Oh, interesting. Thanks for the tips. I'll watch out for the grenade toss animation. It looks like he raises his arm whenever he's about to toss it.

As for the Syndy build...that's interesting. The gauntlet and boots are two things I havent tried yet. I'll check those out! As for the tank item...100 armor on syndra? XD I can see that being useful though.
