So I tried maining Fiddlesticks...

He has to be the single worst jungler I've ever played this season (even worse than Tristana JG) and no matter what I do, I can't impact the game consistently. He's god awful from behind or if you can't secure excellent vision. His dueling is trash and you have no dash to escape safely either (just hope Q is enough). His clearing is slow. His kit is super unreliable besides the Q. He gets half his HP removed by just a Cait. headshot late game. How do people win using him without feeling like you lucked out that they chased into your ult. or some lanes overextended in really silly ways? On equal gold, he seems like such a liability.

Last game for example, an Eve with Banshee's Veil would just roam the map and kill me even within our own base while still getting away. By the time I Ed her so I could use Fear, I'm already dead and she's far tankier too. Eve isn't even a particularly good late game champion. If I put the same effort into a meta jungler, I'd be back in ~Plat. 3.

I feel like I gave Fiddle a more than fair chance and I've done OK with him in other seasons so it's not like I have no clue how he plays. I tried him as support. I tried him mid (some decent matchups) and I've jungled him a lot. He seems to suck at every position except in really niche cases and there are always better options. I'm not claiming to be a good Fiddlesticks but I've first timed random junglers and had a bigger impact on games than when I play Fiddlesticks after 60+ games. Even when I win, it's either a snowball or the enemy team "chose to lose" by making fundamentally bad plays/decisions.

Fiddlesticks needs to be reworked and moved OUT of the jungle imo. The jungle is just no place for a squishy mage that does the majority of his damage standing in one spot.

Not to mention how badly he's dicked over by vision, not to mention the jungle changes making his already bad clear worse.

Dude even falls off late game, as if his early wasn't bad enough.

Have you tried tank fiddle with item 3116, its tho only build that works for me. Pump out that utility and dont die

The only hope for Fiddlesticks is that your opponents pick an equally shitty jungle like Shen or Ekko.

Ironically, in their futile attempts to revive him by buffing his E, they only made him more annoying as a support. Still garbage overall. Toxic kit, but ineffective. Combined with all his key items being gutted, he's utterly useless.

On the bright side, he's pretty decent in ARAM.

yeah you are playing him wrong, you rush mobi boots before anything else and max Q second and just gank the shit out of every lane. fiddlesticks isn't bad you just aren't adapting to the fact he cant afk farm the jungle anymore

fiddlesticks is simply a counter jungler. you farm minions and counter jungle your opponent. if your opponent is trying to secure kills in a lane go to that lane and prevent those kills with your Q and E. once the enemy jungler gives up or dies then return to farming camps. you dont have to "gank" to be an effective jungler. you just have to prevent your opponent from ganging up on your lanes while you farm.

if you're having mana issues or are having trouble staying alive consider buying cheap defensive items and mana items instead of pure AP.

bronzie here but I love fiddle. On SR and more over on HA. I had a 53% win ratio i think with him before they upped his E, despite him being r4ped by the new birds, and despite me not able to solo carry games as a fed jgler with him. But then again I can't solo carry games as a fed anything. Yet :D He's really enemy dependent, like others say, I personally can't pick him against Lee Sin, and you have to pray the enemies don't go full MR. He's really team dependent too, in low elo mostly, where begging for more wards is like asking for the moon, regardless of the champ. But that goes for other champs too, like Amumu, cus I feel signaling my intention of ulting and having my team @ ready is harder than signaling a plane landing. Anyway, fid needs vision badly was my point. And indeed he is so weak that 4 ap+magic pen items w/ ap+magic pen runes could not finish a sejuani with 1 mr item, but a well placed ult can get quadras, if they're already peeled. Like you or someone else stated, the element of surprise for when ulting is v important, and you don't need over extended enemies to gank. Ulting their blue side top from their tri for instance is v fun, specially against squishies like the dreaded Teemo (<3). And yea, I was leaning towards protobelt too because despite my speed boost, it feels ANY champ can out run it/him and was flashing quite often just to get in range. So if I were to up anything atm it would be something related to his speed. Base, passive, scaling, idc. I did have speed related mastery and ks on him, but haven't tried boots other than the sorcerers, afaik, so ty for the idea.

You don't play fiddle as jng is why. HE is a support.

He is one of the scariest mage supports, beating even Brand and Annie. Nothing beats 70% someone at lvl3 since crow bounced to them 3 times, or hitting lvl6 and can 2v1 if he does his ult right.
