Would Kalista's passive be balanced if it were on a melee champion instead?

That sounds incredibly awkward and difficult to use.

They have it. Rengar.

Except it puts him in melee range, only works in bushes/stealth, and can't be used to kite backwards.

Yeah because then you wouldnt be able to make the first attack and would have to get close enough for CC to touch you.

Kalista passive on a melee champion flat out doesn't work. You'd juke yourself out of melee range constantly.

sounds like you came up with something harder to use then kalista. i applaud u :P

balanced = potentialy, depends on the kit

fun to play = probubly not

it would need to be a melee with slightly extendet range(200-300), but then it would work just fine, difficult to play, but a great mechanic that would be pretty fun to use if mastered. And it definitly would be balanceable, as you need to get into closr range befor you have acces to that mobillity, and as soon as a target manages to disengage, you loos the passive-mobillity. would have been a nice potential passive for a fiors rework, AAs from ~175-400range get lunges that close the gap, normal AAs let you perform a small step like kallista afterwards.
