Why is akali an assassin, but diana a fighter?

akali's ult lets her dash, then dash again to a minion or something to escape. Diana can do that too with her reset?

Akali has escapes, no shields and no cc, so which basically is a description of an assassin. Diana has a shield, pull in slow, and no escapes unless she uses her ult to dash to a minion or something, so therefore she's a fighter/diver.

its because akali assassinates, and diana fights

Technically diana is a diver.

technically it dont matter they are all champs

akali doesn't really have escapes

Diana also has shielding and more CC.

Honestly I think it's just that Diana has a Shield and CC.

probably because Diana has a shield, which allows her to stay in fight longer.

while akali either onedhot someone or get oneshot by someone.

first of all the labels are NOT FOR EXPERIENCED PLAYERS they are, as of the last changes, for noobs trying to purchase their first champion that don't need all the complicated classifications

akali gets resets on kill akali doesn't typically escape by tanking most of your team for like 4 seconds akali does not tend to benefit from staying in battle longer akali depends on damage based regen to sustain herself. She is squishy if she is not dealing damage

akali is an old school assassin which does in fact resemble a fighter most of the time but the extremes to which she does the assassin parts of what she does goes beyond simply having an offcolor ult unlike in Diana's case. She is one step closer to assassinhood than irelia who is technically also an assassin but irelia is both the prototype for modern assassins and melee adcs in general.

Diana sustains by putting a shield up Diana's full burst combo does not begin and end with your forehead on the keyboard Diana actually scales well with the amount of time she spends in battle due to her passive Diana has AoE CC.. actually she has 3 aoe attacks

It is basically because Diana has to auto attack repeatedly to trigger her passive to get kills.

I kind of think Ekko is a fighter and not an assassin, if he is labeled an assassin that explains how they screwed him up.

Diana dives into a fight. Either you die or she does.

Akali dashes in, can invis, dash away, and has a MS boost to walk away.

Diana commits, Akali can back out any time.
