Jax, the Grandmaster at Arms, is it just me or has he become and is pretty dull? Hear me out pls!

I mean in comparison to the current game with all these fun champions, Jax is just left behind in a stale state. To clarify. Iam not a Jax main nor do i think he is broken or too weak.

His Passive, increasing AS on every AA His Q is a simple leap that deals damage. His W is a simple autoattack reset that deals bonus magic damage. His E that blocks every autoattack, deals physical damage and stuns all nearby enemy units around him. His R passive that allows him to deal additional magic damage on every third hit and the active that increases armor and MR based on your AD and AP.

His laning is just playing passive most of the time until hitting lvl 6 and then two autoattacks and Q>W and eventually using E when the enemy wants to fight back. According to his Lore, he mastered every single weapon and is pretty much unbeatable, a mysterious former mercenary.

He is known as the strongest duelist in the game, but i dont necessarily believe that anymore, unless he is far ahead. The most important key that makes him almost unbeatable lategame and with 6 items is his Counterstrike and his third hit R passive that he hammers you with.

Don't get me wrong this is not a whiny thread, i played Jax since season 3 and carried a bunch of games with him, but he really feels cheap you dont have to do much to become the great lategame monster, play passive until 6 try to farm as much as possible and dont die. Jax doesnt deal that insane amount of damage, he just counterstrikes and ults and builds tanky items so you do less.

The key to being a good Jax is not being good as Jax but good at the game. Whenever i play Jax i get this stale feeling.

Just ask yourself why you play Jax.

• Do you expect to be able to 1v1 everyone?
• Do you like his Lore and appearance?

I dont think Jax is broken, but his kit is pretty old and boring , imo. He is known as the Grandmaster of arms, a former mercenary, a strong duelist and having a unknown past. If you didnt know Jax how would you imagine someone with these traits?

Personally i would imagine him like this:

• Clothing that shrouds his identity
• Rugged and battle hardened appearance
• More than one weapon he uses during combat
• Autoattacks and abilities that actually reflects his skill with weapons
• Quotes that give him more depth, something that gives him a reason to stay anonymous and how he might've become as strong as he is in his Lore and reputation
• Lines that interact with other champions and potential challengers

The current Jax is nothing like that, but i would surely imagine this kind of character when i hear his traits. The current Jax talks like a dumb arrogant guy that always fights when he is drunk and thinks he is the strongest. His mask is badass yes, but he looks like he is wearing a purple monk robe. The current Grandmaster of Arms, slaps his weapon to the left and to the right, jumps in the air and slams his weapon on you, spins his weapon in the air and pounds his weapon tip against you with every third strike. This sounds like a generic combatant that learned some tricks that are better for show than for actual combat if you ask me. The only thing that feels powerful and impactful on him is his third strike and that's it..

I know he isnt underplayed at the moment but why would you pick him unless you are against someone like Tryndamere toplane? I imagine most people who play him like it nice and simple, a mysterious champion that could beat everyone lategame in a 1vs1 scenario and splitpushes all day.

But Jax is a outdated champion of Riots old days, just look how awesome Riot Games is now! Look how the Lore and the Champions in League of Legends evolve, all these changes are good and healthy for the game, characters become more and more fun to play and now we get decent exciting Lore!

Maybe my opinion is just a tiny spark in the darkness, so tell me if you disagree and why you play or like Jax Any thoughts are appreciated
