My problem with League and why I prefer SMITE and HOTS

StarfleetPony001·4/21/2016, 2:23:07 PM·2 votes·1,939 views

My simple problem with league is this. Champions that are rediculously easy, require next to no mechanical skill or have one button combos are abused to high heaven and Riot does absolutely nothing about it. I am sick of people saying that Annie should be a viable support when she rewards the person playing her way too much for no real skill.

I am simply sick of people getting rewarded for essentially NOTHING. For doing nothing except pressing a button. Annie is just an example of a champion that in my opinion is completely unhealthy to play. She may not have much mobility but mearly having summoner 4 gives her a free, powerful engage that takes absolutely no skill to pull off.

What is the point of having other supports in the game if easier supports like her get spammed every time they are avaliable because they are simply too powerful. I had hoped that with the mage rework, Annie would lose her point and click stun because Taric lost his and it became a skillshot but it seems that Riot don't actually care that she has been an unbalanced mess for years that rewards player for having NO TECHNICAL SKILL at all.

It is exactly the same with MasterYi.

People are blatently ignoring this problem or downvote posts about it because they simply think that they should be abusing the game and its somehow "rewarding or fun" but it is losing players. I am really at the end of my rope with League... this game has become less and less about actual skill each season and more about the selfish desires of Riot and a few priviledged players at the top of the rankings.

You only get 1 ban there are at least 10 champions I can think of that are rediculous and need banning at the moment. I am tired of seeing these champions because Riot are simply incompetent designers. This game used to reward people based on their skill level but not anymore it seems. It seems that all Riot gives a crap about is their cash and how much they can abuse their playerbase before everyone wises up and leaves. Riot will never balance this game correctly because they simply don't care... they want money and you are stupid if you believe otherwise.

I am so done with a game that does not reward me for playing skillfull champs. I will not play easy champs on principle because I am not going to be some sheep, I am a unique individual and I am tired of Riot ignoring people like me who have decency and a sense of honor and fairness in the game. Something that does not exist outside the United Kingdom obviously.

Is it so rediculous wrong of me to ask for an actual FAIR game? Is that really so difficult? You try to point this out to people and you end up getting reported. I am tired of this community and their blind acceptance of the way this game is.

Can i just say that this post was probably just a salt post by you thanks to a fed enemy Yi or/and Annie from a recent game? Listen kid, no one is forcing you to play League. If you dont like how "cheap and easy to play" they are, then go back to smite. Every game has its cheap characters, but learn to differentiate cheap and skill. Not all Annie or Yi players are good. Just because you went up against someone who knows what they're doing doesn't make it cheap. It's like saying Urgot and Yorick are cheap champions because you happened to run into a Yorick/Urgot main, but those champions are hardly played!

So stop whining on the boards and just uninstall league :)

League wasn't made to be hard... You know, no one is holding you from leaving forever?

My problem is that gold is a thing, and creates 2 classes; the rich and poor. in HOTS noone is poor and everyone wants tons of "gold" (experience) so they can level up faster. Also HOTS supports don't feel like a lame duck when it comes to damage, they can actually dish it out if you get the right build.

HoTS... The game is so dumbed down that it's sad. If a lane gets ahead everyone gets ahead regardless of how they try to influence the game, whether that be roaming or not roaming. This creates a stale game to play and to watch.

Not gonna talk about the things wrong with smite because it honestly has some positives and I would play it if I didn't like league so much.

Mechanically simple champions are easy to read. Annie has a stack indicator. Her burst combo isn't the end all be all. Assuming you're either new or thats a smurf account but I'm assuming you have very little game knowledge.

Yes, because Chiron is just the absolute POSTER CHILD for Gods that require skill, isn't he?

I left smite because it felt blurry and unclear.

I played it , trust me, but i prefer league because it is a better, crisp, and more well developed game in my opinion

Um... you left the game because some champions in it are easier to use? That's pretty silly. Every competitive game ever has some characters/teams/tactics that new players are meant to use because they're simple and basic. That's called good design. It lets newer or less mechanically sound players enjoy the game alongside people who take the game so seriously that they make rage-posts about it being "too easy". These basic characters need to be able to compete with the more difficult and complicated ones, otherwise what is the point?

Just that fact that you're complaining about Yi makes me think you're not actually as good as you claim to be. High Elo players can hard carry games in lower Elos pretty easily. Yi is only really a "power pick" or a problem in low Elos where people don't deal with him properly. If you're losing to Yi, then you're basically losing a game of Street Fighter to the guy who sits across the screen and spams fireballs all match. A bit lame? Yeah. But if you WERE as good as you say, that cheese trick wouldn't bother you because anything that repetitive is easy to counter and destroy.

Perhaps YOU need to try a less complicated champion, if you're losing a lot of your games to the most basic of champs and you can't seem to stop them with whatever overloaded "high-skill" monster of a champ you think everyone should be playing or GTFO. I'd suggest Tryndamere. He's basic as they come, can hard carry games in low Elo, and he doesn't associate with his team much since he's always splitpushing (and judging from your post, you're not really a friendly team player either). Also it works aesthetically, since you and Tryndamere both like to rage!

I look forward to seeing "git gud scrub" from you after you've right-clicked your way to victory. Go get 'em, champ!

Yup and the League parasites already downvote this because they simply don't want the truth and want to keep their freelo. This community is so pathetically predictable.

Annie sacrifices a lot to be the "braindead" champion she is so I don't mind her position in this game

Shes an example of the mage spectrum (that I made up, not 100% accurate):

Burst vs DPS

Annie is on the far side of the spectrum as a radical burst mage: sacrificing tons of mobility and range

Viktor (live server) is very close the radical side of the spectrum but he has weaker burst in exchange for more mobility and zoning

And then you got someone like Xerath who is still in the burst side but closer to neutral: weaker burst but gets range and cc

And then you get some dude like Azir who is in the further end of the DPS side with a mobility, zoning, range etc

Annie may be a burst one and click stun mage but she has restrictions that makes people favor other champions over her

(I.e. i main viktor and even though I know annie has a burst more fearsome than mine, I still play viktor because I dislike the restrictions on annie)

Problems with your argument.

You claim Annie gets spammed and what good are other supports? Well... Thresh Morgana Blitzcrank Alistar Braum Leona Janna Soraka What do the above champions have in common? They're all more popular supports than Annie. Yes Annie is simple and her burst is enormous, but that comes with some massively exploitable drawbacks. As you get higher in skill her win/loss curve begins to resemble something you'd see in an amusement park with all its ups and downs, her winrate sometimes going as low as 44%. That doesn't scream OP to me at all. Annoying, but not unbeatable.

And Master Yi? Yeah, he's a little overtuned, but that's why he's getting tuned down in the next patch. We're not ignoring the problem. Quite the opposite - We know there's a problem, we know Riot knows there's a problem, and we know it's being worked on. Even then he's not unbeatable by any stretch. He's simply a champion that, like some others widely known as pubstompers, thrives in uncoordinated, chaotic environments where people aren't cooperating or communicating.

Is Bakasura and mercury and apollo not piss easy to play?

Kinda miss the auto close feature the old forums had once you hit a certain downvote threshold.

Ricky Spanish DC4/21/2016, 3:27:55 PM1 votes

league isn't a game of dodgeball. Hitting skill shots is an important and difficult skill but shouldn't be the main focus of the game, and that is why most champions have only about 2 of them in their kits. How is Riot ignoring you? After playing a decent amount of Hots, I dont think the heroes in the game are harder than the champions at league at all. If you want Riot to address you, than you need to come up with actual ideas and not just complain and banter for a huge paragraph. The skill in league comes from game knowledge and decision making, not from aiming your mouse better.

StarfleetPony0014/21/2016, 2:30:39 PM1 votes

This is exactly why the game is such a mess at the moment, nobody wants to admit that the champions they spam are easy and they do it only because Riot lets them get away with it.
