Legitimate Question about Zed
This isn't a rant, this isn't me saying he should be buffed or nerfed or anything. What lane did he go in before he was taken to mid lane?

He has always been a mid laner. However, prior to the current meta of Zed build, the old Zed used to build Hydra or Bork. This meant he was a much more proficient top laner as a split pusher. Also he had insta blink where there wasn't a cast time for the shadow of his W to reach his destination.
At the time when Zed was coming out, we had just ended an insanely imba assassin meta. I think this initial fact simply caused people not to take mid Zed too much. Also back then, assassins were more prone to feast or famine. Zed was a special case though as he could always farm decently in lane assuming you manage your energy well enough. However, the rate of his power spike as the current meta's Zed is just simply ridiculous. Even if you gave Zed his old W back as insta blink, the old zed is just simply far better balanced than the current one.
Removal of QSS i got mixed feelings of. It was messed up that by simply buying 1 item and pressing 1 button, you counterplay his entire Kit.... but at the same topic, I'm pissed that QSS no longer removes Zed ult without any compensation debuff to his kit.
I believe he was a top. I started playing this year so I wouldn't trust my word 100% but I have seen him top and it worked well
