Quick Inside Look At What Wins Games
Based on this picture, who do you think carried this particular game?

Anyone that can deduce anything from the above picture still has a lot to learn. Indeed, Tryndamere has the highest KDA. In essence, he was the sole reason that the game didn't end ages ago with the scores of our bot lane and mid laner. What it doesn't show you, is how he effectively did what he did.
So, lets look at the next panel:

What can you deduce from THIS particular picture? You look at my damage done to champion, you quickly realize I was the bottom of the barrel. So what, exactly, did I contribute to the team for me to think I've aided and most certainly "carried" this game? Well, that's exactly what I'm here to talk to you about.
First important thing to notice:

Death count. Notice how I died the LEAST amount of times in the game. That means, out of everyone else, I made the LEAST amount of MAJOR mistakes that ended in me not dying. Does that mean I didn't make ANY mistake and that each death that I have was necessary? No. 2 of those deaths were highly avoidable. 1 death was an execution that was necessary to not give the enemy unnecessary gold. Staying alive for the time that I did made I had necessary impact for all of my team's death timers to keep the enemy team from taking unnecessary resources. Though, they played worse than I did mindlessly chasing me around the map trying to get kills. I performed my duty regularly so as to mitigate the team's shortcomings as much as possible. I had to fight off any impulse of me trying to be a "hero" to me playing the minor guy role and focusing on demolition.
By doing this, I allowed my team to secure resources around the map, as well as getting the bigger, albeit less important, objectives that indeed helped us win this game. Lets take a look at what I have, in particular, been doing around the map:

I focused on the most "boring" aspect of the game. I wasn't interested in fancy/flashy plays. Wasn't interested in "exhilarating" team fights that pushes me over the edge of excitement. I focused on whacking towers. All game. Through this _constant tower pressure the enemy team had little room to breathe. Every time my team tried to group with me, I went to another lane. I actively told them to stay on the side with objectives, split and NOT group. I was also in charge (for my own rights) of keeping up team morale. I calmed everyone down (to the best of my ability) and actively tried to keep everyone in high spirits.
So, in essence, I carried the game having a positive attitude, objective control and shot calling. Tryndamere, with his mechanical nature, carried the game through kills and kill pressure. Some of you might have thought I was getting down to it being me "solo" carrying, but no. This was a 2v8 game. Some games will never be won solo, but if you can single out who you trust the most on your team, build them up and let them help you carry, you will win more games.
TL;DR
Kills are not important. You don't need kills to win. Die less. Dying drastically decreases your chances of winning. Don't always look to group for big fights unless you're desperate and the game isn't changing flow. If you wanna pray to lady luck, go for it. Don't over extend in unnecessary fashion and if your team dies and you're the last one left, it's important to shove or stay on a split if you're already doing so. Backing WON'T help.
On a side note: If anyone wants me to do youtube video with the game, I'm all for it. I'm just a lowly peasant scrub though, and just giving out my little share of advice to the community.
