Connectivity Issues and How it's Handled

Occasionally, not very often, my internet will get interrupted. I'm sure it's not that uncommon of a problem for a lot of players. However, this shouldn't keep me from rejoining a match or a pregame lobby. Just a few minutes ago my internet went down for mere moments, giving me plenty of time to rejoin the lobby before my turn to pick was up. I confirmed this by opening a window in my web browser. Despite my internet reconnecting the client was unable to realize/react/whatever to the situation. Instead of reconnecting it just sat there, resulting in me receiving a dodge penalty. No big deal, it's just a couple minutes. But for the game to not easily reconnect me is silly. Why can't I close the (unresponsive) client and restart and be given the option to rejoin. The game assumes that if I close the client that means I intend to quit, clearly not always the case.

Maybe I'm missing something, I don't know. I just started playing again after a very long break.

I don't know enough about the tech to explain it... But I can imagine many scenarios that make it impossible for riot to implement what you want.... Not due to poor coding but to to technical limitations of tcp/udp connections and keeping them and the data sent and received secure.
