Make double edged items

Why not create some items that give some stats but in turn take away one or two stats Something like the active of gargoyles stone plate but in the form of a passive on the item.

For example, this item gives you X amount of mana but takes away X amount of Hp This item gives you X AD but takes away X amount of HP and Armour. This item gives you X amount of MS but takes away Magic Resist.

Maybe make them into some type of passive on the items in addition to unique passives.

Items like this would only be picked up by people for whom the downside was negligible. An item that increased your auto damage but slows your atk speed would be exploited by gp and ez, an item that increases your damage dealt within the first 3 sec of combat but then reduced your ap till you leave combat would be exploited by fast combo champs like lb and Dianna or #any ad assassin + draven if it was an ad item.

I think stoneplate is useful because tanks already dont care too much about dpsing and allows them to get more rotations out of their utility based spells within a team fight.

item 3812 is literally the definition of a double edged item.

On one hand, you get 30% damage reduction on the spot.

On the other hand, this 30% damage you took is then dealt over 3 seconds as TRUE DAMAGE, meaning you might actually end up taking more damage than you would've originally.
