I need help finding a champion or role that fits my personality

CyrusKingPersia··1 votes·653 views

What champion/role fits me best? I am an analytical person and like to solve complex problems. I don’t like taking risks and I don’t like plays that only work if my opponent makes a mistake. Which means I don’t really feel all that happy if I solo kill an opponent because I know it only happened because my opponent doesn’t understand the game. I feel worse about dying than good about getting a kill. I also hate relying on my teammates, especially if their mistakes get me killed. Lastly, the way I’ve played all games ever is making a high volume of methodical, low risk actions to slowly gain an advantage and never give my opponents any choices, forcing them into unfavorable choices because I feel that is the only way to win that doesn’t rely on the opponent making massive mistakes. Basically I like thinking, reliability, and control. What champion/role fits me best that uses these traits?

Thanks for the reply. I've heard support mains talk about how they like that they get to play a macro game more than other roles, but I don't really get it. Other than having a lot of wards, how do they get to focus on the macro game? Support is my least played role so I could use some insight. Also why reksai? She seems different from the rest of the group.

RekSai She* So, support main here... the only other role in the game that is close to being equally as analytical and macro oriented as support is jungle. Now I'm not saying it will feel like that in low elo. You have to keep in mind that a majority of the players you meet in game got auto-filled as support and have no clue how to truly play the role outside of babysitting their adc and keeping vision for their lane. But someone who truly knows what's up... the ever rare support mains you will meet... well, it's something magical. And reading your post, I guarantee you that you're one of us. We play support because of our personalities. Support allows us to make judgement calls few other players get the chance to make.

While I'm bot lane trying to make plays and catch the enemy laners out so my adc can kill them, I'm also keeping track of where the enemy jungler started and when I can sneak into the jungle to place some deep wards so our jungle can start stealing buffs and putting them behind. I'm predicting the most likely pathing of the enemy jungler so I can warn lanes when he's probably close to them (a lot of low elo players in particular are relatively predictable). I'm making sure I know whether the top laner on either team has teleport up so I can expect or set up a teleport play. I'm watching the cs lead in each lane to see which laners are most likely to start roaming. When my adc backs, if I don't have enough gold to justify it, or if I'm particularly full on hp/mp, I'm looking to roam mid and help mid get a kill or trying to safely step into the jungle to distract or slow them down while they're trying to farm. I'm not just warding... I'm placing the most effective wards to grant me vision of critical places on the map to keep my lanes safe and to track the enemy jungle.

Support players have so much more going on in their heads than the average player (particularly low-elo, and not 100% of the time. i'm not tryna insult anyone who might not fall into this description). ADC's main concern is cs. Get fed. Attack the things right in front of them. Mid laner... cs. Get fed. Roam if necessary. Top laner: top is an island. Win lane. Don't let enemy top win. Maybe TP play if team is good enough to communicate they need it and set it up.

True supports, and often junglers, have the most analytical, methodical approach to the game. They are always looking to make the next best move. They are always thinking about the next several moves. Where is the enemy team? How can we capitalize on our current situation. When is the best time to move toward global objectives?

You want to have some real fun? Start playing support. Start looking at the whole map even though others just see you looking at bot lane. You might have a laner popping off, but it's your roams, your vision, your pings, your ability to predict enemy movements that allows your team to get ahead. League is as intricate as a game of chess. But when you know your enemy's next move and how to set your team up for success... there is something pretty magical about seeing all your efforts come to fruition in not just your personal score and success, but in a team win that happened because you made it happen through a myriad of small but very important, calculated decisions.

Love your reply; everything you said sounds exactly like my playstyle, but can't a jungler do all those things too, but more? With the exception that supports have more wards and can have both vision wards and sweeping lens, a jungler can roam more, can access the enemy jungle more and on both sides of the map, and can solo dragon/rift herald, depending on champion. What am I missing?

You said low-risk.

Many supports are play makers, so they can choose to start fights when they feel it's advantageous. The ones who aren't like that tend to have strong peel so you can undo your allies mistakes as well as get out alive.

Besides that, the supportive nature of a supports kit (along with their items) make them useful for helping anyone survive, so even in the event your adc ends up being a monkey, you can be useful to whoever the best player on your team actually is. It's hard to 1v9 carry, but 2v8 is slightly easier.

You can play a roaming support style, you follow your jungle for invades, you set up the picks, you set up Vision for youe lane rotations to be safe. All you need to do is start actually shot calling objectives.

The reason i picked reksai is ahe is slightly aggressive but her tunnel vision lets you read counter gank opportunities to be ready to pounce on the enemy and turn the 2v2

Shyvana MasterYi Udyr Sion You can spend all game analyzing your team as well the enemy team with no distractions. The complex problem you'll have to solve is how your team can be so bad and how they can be even worse than they currently are. 0 reliance on your team. Low risk play. You don't overstep on bad players. Highly methodical play style that gives you slow advantage over the course of the game. This is also known as AFK farming in the jungle.

This may sound like a joke, but it's not.

Lol, you sure that's not a joke? My team definitely does. :)

Swain sounds like he fits you

Why do you say so? I know old swain was called the master tactician, but does his kit reflect that?

Sounds like a teemo player to me. Teemo Do your own thing, ignore your team, farm for days while bot gets pushed in, never TP bot ever because duh you need that TP to get back to throwing mushrooms around your empty lane.

Kennen item 3153 is a ranged toplane splitpusher that scales extremely well.

He avoids teamfights in favor of splitpushing sidelanes. He is a very safe splitpusher: not only is he ranged, but he has a great escape ability that usually outruns 99% of champions (assuming you dont get cc’d) He doesn’t have much critical outplay potential, and he simply gets better and stronger the longer the game becomes, to the point of being a lategame monster. He tends to have full control over his lane, forcing his laner under turret and making them miss a lot of farm. A few cons are that his passive takes some getting used to, he is squishy early (which is why you must take boneplating and second wind secondary on him), and he has no outstanding waveclear unless you buy a Runaan’s. However, next patch they are buffing his AD scaling and early attack speed. Take him top lane.
