Could Liandry's burn damage be lowered for DoTs?
So Liandry's on the PBE right now does % max health damage instead of % current health damage. Fair enough, it's turning into a tank busting item.
However, certain champions, specifically
were using this a little TOO well. To the point where even if he managed to reach level 16 with only a
to his name, he could still deal 95% max health damage, where it usually would do 52%, with the press of an R key. Of course, something had to change. So Liandry's went from 2% max health damage to a mere 1%. Taking that 95% max health damage to 69%. This is definitely more reasonable, but obviously hurts a lot of other mages in the process. To even do the same damage as live, the target needs to be at half health already.
So what if the burn damage were to be halved for DoT effects? I imagine it would would keep certain % health based DoT AP champions (
) from outright abusing the item without ruining it for everyone else.
Also, like Deathfire Touch used to be, they could make it so Single Target/AoE > DoTs in terms of priority. That way, if you hit someone with a single target attack, the burn damage isn't lowered because you or someone else then hits them with a DoT immediately afterward.
Would this allow Liandry's to exist in a stronger state without breaking these few champions? I'm just pitching ideas.
