So can we just nip this thing in the bud? It's been 3 patches already.

Death's Dance used to be a niche item. It was good on people who did a lot of physical damage like Graves, Draven, Riven, etc, but needed a little more time to get their combo out before getting popped by the enemy Talon/LeBlanc. Cool. But now it's not just making them have that precious extra two seconds before they die, but it's making them basically invincible. Slap a shield from a Janna onto a Draven with Death's Dance and not only are you only doing about 50 damage a hit because 30% is reduced to a DoT, but he's healing like 80 a hit. Now pile a Bloodthirster on top of that? Immortal Draven.

I'm not suggesting you reduce the damage reduction to what it was before (15), nor I am I crying 'boo hoo remove item from gaem', but I honestly think this should have its passive made unique to melee champs only, like Tiamat. Riven has to get into danger to get close and do damage. Graves is super short range, and all of his abilities are aoe, so the healing isn't as great. Draven? Sits at the back of a teamfight, ignoring all damage, healing for 500 a hit, dealing 1k crits with 3 items (Thirster, Dance, and IE)... it's ridiculous. The only other ADs this item is even somewhat viable on are Ashe because she likes longer fights anyway, and Lucian because of his ult and his in-your-face melee range attitude playstyle.

When a niche item becomes the only thing that makes a champ no one used to play that often builds first, every game, every elo (Except master I guess but that's because games last like 4 minutes there) I honestly think that item is considered way too damn good.

-Please note that, while he was 4-5 with just a Thirster and a Dance, I, a 6-3 Jinx, a moderately fed Ekko, and my support Sona, while I had an Executioner's calling, took almost 12 seconds to kill him, and he killed me and Sona in the process. :T

By himself.

Death's Dance was always that good. People just suddenly started to realize it.

My brother and I were talking about this, and came up with a solution: Keep the 30% for melee champs, for your reasoning is fine. But, reduce it to 20% on ranged champs, giving it a small buff from the original 15%, but keeping it in check. Also, the fact that draven's blood rush cool down resets whenever he catches an axe really makes DD a little strong on him when he kites ( of course it still uses mana each cast)
