Ranking System's Pretty Poor.
Alright, so after a long, long period of thinking about the ranking system, I've though something out, if you wish to argue, I will quote you and give my counter argument.
The ranking system is terrible.
Yes, I know, I'm bronze 3, though I'm not complaining about my rank, I personally am surprised I got bronze 3 and not bronze 5. I'm saying a multitude of my friends are stuck in bronze, when they deserve to maybe be silver/gold. Because the skill differential between silver, bronze, and gold is too small to single-handedly carry yourself out of bronze.
Some claim that "Elo Hell" Doesn't exist, and some preach it to no end, personally, I think it's just a poorly made ranking system.
Because no matter how good you do, your rank is determined whether you win or lose, so if you go 25/0 on say, Akali, and lose, your LP is still being lowered because you lost. Similarly, if you go 0/25 on Akali, and get carried, your LP is being raised on the fact that you won, so you could wrongfully get promoted.
I feel like a good 10% of people in Bronze are justifiably Silver II or Gold V and just can't carry themselves out of bronze by pure skill. Sure, someone in platinum or diamond could, but the skill differential between silver, gold, platinum and diamond is so, so large.
Ultimately, I feel like the ranked system needs to be re-made to be based off of how good or bad you did, not based on whether you got carried, or dragged into the ground by your team. I know this will take months/years to create, but I feel like this is a real problem that needs to be addressed.
this is a TEAM game whether you do well individually or not is IRRELEVANT in the grand scheme of things. If your team lost then that means you didn't do well enough in the TEAM aspect of the game. You can destroy you lane for all i care but if you do NOTHING ELSE then you don't deserve to be higher rank. If you prioritize killing people over destroying turrets/inhibs/nexus then you ARE DOING IT WRONG!
Look at it this way, if you personally have been getting turrets and such as you say, but the entire enemy team is doing it faster, There are only 1 or 2 champions in the game that can single handedly get objectives faster than 5 people, these are the so called "carry" champions. 1 Person can not get a turret as fast as 5, and in the situation where you alone are fed, and trying to get your team fed, when it comes down to the line, you can't fight back as one person trying to get objectives. You most likely have experienced trying to do these things in a match and every time you get close to an objective a loud resounding "Ace!" echoes on your speakers. You know why? Your team did terrible, but you did amazing, it does not matter. Someone who is 20/0 can't fight back against 5 people who are 20/0.
