Cost for mastery level ups

Don't you guys think 3250 essence is a bit too much to get a champion to level 6? I'm not sure how much is needed for level 6 --> 7, but 3250 is too much for 5 --> 6 and I can never imagine giving that much for it. I can understand that this is not going to be a problem for people who already own all the champions, but for us who are still trying to collect them and are missing some, it completely removes the concept of mastery levels after 5. The thing that annoys me the most is that I used to main toplane, so I had some top champions leveled up to 6 or 7 but now that I've started playing adc and never top, the champions that still appear on my profile are the previous toplane champions that I used to play, even though I have more mastery points on some adcs, just because they have a higher mastery level.
