I've played this game for 4 years now and here is what I found...

It's purely random. Game is decided at the moment players are spread between the teams. Your actions can change maybe 5% of the outcome, but that's about it. It's like an improved lottery, if you will.

So lets check out this maths

Your actions have 5% impact 5 players on each team each with 5% impact So in total the players have a 50% impact on the game

49% Winions and 1% Nexus?

cTJay2 votes

ok let's start again... Your actions have 5% impact... Meaning 95% doesn't depend on you. That's the point.

Kai Guy4 votes

Why exactly do the other 9 players result in 95%?

cTJay2 votes

why bring other players in the equation

Kai Guy1 votes

Because if your claim is 5% then there is only impact off other players to decide a match?

cTJay2 votes

I've already replied you 3 times so not gonna do it everywhere u follow me on lol

Kai Guy3 votes

Conveniently. The boards provides a link to every poster who reply's to you.Your replying to each of my comments. Ill address each comment individually. If this bothers you or you want to consolidate our conversation to 1 reply chain please mention that you would like to do so and I will happily oblige you.

Still waiting for you to address how the hell your getting 5X9=95.

Shouldn't take you more the one response to correct or explain that. Just own you goofed your math and everybody can move on. I can hold multiple conversations with 1 person due to the convenience of alerts.

You want to deflect more or you got any response to one very simple question. "Why exactly do the other 9 players result in 95%?" How does 5X9=95?

Exactly Each player has a 5% impact Meaning there is 50% that doesnt depend on the players

Where does that 50% come from

because you like throwing random numbers without knowing how odds even work? if you always only have a 5% impact on the outcome of the game then EVERY OTHER PLAYER ALSO HAS THE EXACT SAME ODDS!

You like using words normal people don't use as a vain attempt to sound smarter than you actually are. Using your own logic that means that every single player has next to no impact in the game which means that they should then be able to screw around doing nothing and everything would be exactly the same in the vast majority of situations. You literally are telling us that all players combined only have a 50% impact on the game so where does the other 50% comes from? why do players have such little impact on the outcome of the game? you have said absolutely nothing and expect people to believe whatever you say at face value. I think you need to actually look at the definition of "sophism" instead of throwing it at random

no lol. Faker and kevin.durand8736 first game don't have the same odds at winning xD But that's irrelevant, you totally missed the point.

ofc I missed the point... very easy to do when there is no point. Also FAKER WOULD ALSO HAVE 5% impact on his games! you cannot throw numbers and change them to whatever pleases you. You cannot say "you have 5% impact on your games" and then say "but this other dude doesn't! why? just cuz!" you have no point, you have nothing to back up ANYTHING you say and you just keep spewing numbers like they mean anything. I'll say it again, go and look at the definition of "sophism" since you like using that word. You are a clear example of the word itself

imagine missing such a simple point. No wonder you're so frustrated xD

Kai Guy1 votes

5 X 10 = 50. Thus 5% multiplied by 10 players makes for 50%. Wheres the rest of the % impact on a game if any 1 player can only create 5%?

What point has anybody missed here exactly? Your bad at math? That shows, no one responding has missed this.

cTJay2 votes

smh that's the problem with geeks, they always try to bring the conversation to the one single topic they know...

Kai Guy2 votes

So... Basic multiplication is geeky now?

Just own that your math is weak.

cTJay2 votes

ok lurker I'm happy for you but... Your favorite topic has nothing to do with this one.

Kai Guy1 votes

You being bad at math is not my favorite topic. I am clearly online and active at the moment. Why is it surprising that I would reply?

Nah snowball characters had much bigger impact on the game. Strangely enough as the game has gotten more balanced, your teams have mattered more.

Idk but if u have the mindset of not giving a sht about what other players do then ur fine lol ive hopped between multiple servers for the past years and stood to one thing play to enjoy and play to have fun easily climbed to diamond within a week getting mad or blaming matchmaking is a complete waste of time just have funJinx

Mindset doesnt mean anything really. I could tilt out of this world and win games and i can /mute all and focus up and still lose. The biggest problem i am seeing is the potential to carry has gone down but the match making system is still stacking the odds against you. I can go through my enitre match history and not see a single case where my teaam did not have teammates several tiers below me, in what universe should i have a silver 4 on my team when i was G2? Those games are over before they even started and they are quite frequent in this season.

Naughty Lulu1 votes

Ive see s1’s smack p4’s its just like how yassou and t1 did that bet a month ago if ur good u will climb simple as that

Sanghelios2 votes

The problem with this mindset is that it nullifies the impact you could have had on the game. Because you're convinced that the game is random and that the individual player performance doesn't matter, you won't try in the first place, or even give up trying at the slightest sight of defeat. Mindset is everything in this game, and there are many toxic beliefs that prevent people from improving, this is one of them.

cTJay2 votes

All the opposite - in all those games I was the one playing the best, doing the best actions, calling the best shots. They were ruining all the impact. Like, I had multiple kills, but support was always stealing them, ruining my power curve. I called a baron, a drake, they would just idle, afk, steal wolves... You guys love to try to take the blame away from riot by telling people it's their fault, but when people refuse to go baron to steal wolves, that has nothing to do with my mindset at all. The problem is them.

"You guys love to try to take the blame away from Riot". I don't. I don't think matchmaking is fine, I don't think the game is balanced. But I do think that adapting to the circumstances is better than to complain about them. It might not seem significant to hold a negative belief on League, but I'm telling you that your actions will ALWAYS follow your beliefs, your brain will ALWAYS act according to them. If you're thinking the matchmaking exists to fuck you over, if you're thinking that other people are preventing you from winning, you will not improve, and you will return to the same excuses that cause most of the playerbase to be hardstuck.

if you can't do both, you're not in a position to talk about psychology

Didn't say that it's not possible, but people like to opt in to the easy solution, which tends to be more complaining and less accepting. (I do complain quite a bit about the game myself)

cTJay2 votes

Accepting what? That matchmaking is so bad that you either win without effort, or lose whatever you do? Pretty sure I've acceoted that already. I try everything possible; last game, trollpick kog top had been inting the entire game, jung kindred completely ignored my bot lane while hecarim was constantely camping, with viktor occasionally roaming because zed didn't bother keeping him in check. Nevertheless, I managed to carry, with TWICE more damage than anyone else in the game. Then zed decided it was his moment, and had the genius idea to split push top, a lane where all towers were intact, while their entire (leading) team was doing elder. I mean, there's so much a single human can carry.

Kai Guy3 votes

10 slots. Worst player decides a game? If that's not you... 9 slots remaining. 4 your side. 5 theirs. So what. 61.11% vs 39.99% odds your team will not have a game losing player on it.

Are there games you cant win or games that are free wins? Hell yes. Is this a surprise? Not at all.

See, its not actually purly random, its random in a range. Dead weight is always dead weight. if that's you it shows up in your ability to win. A strong player compaired to the range they are in IS ALWAYS STRONG. This is the baises of MMR.

You cant claim its no skill but your teammates and enemys skill matters. Plus... We have historic data on this. Purchased accounts sink like a stone and high MMR smurfs crush lower mmr players. Players can climb to higher MMR ranges consistently. You call that luck?

Need me to google the definition of luck for you?

cTJay2 votes

Worst player decides a game?

No. Oh wait, were you trying to make me say something? Fallacy, which is why you guys are so often wrong. So I didn't read the rest and went straight to the end

Need me to google the definition of luck for you?

obviously not, why would I rely on a sophist to provide me informations?

Kai Guy1 votes

", I managed to carry" Oh so you won the game... wait.. "Then zed decided it was his moment, and had the genius idea to split push top, a lane where all towers were intact, while their entire (leading) team was doing elder. I mean, there's so much a single human can carry."

Oh my. Sounds like your placing the blame on Zed for being the straw that broke the camels back.

Sorry if you feel I misrepresented your words. Was not trying to do that... just you know.. really sounded to me like you made the claim you carried up to the point your Zed lost it for you.

Was my math wrong for the on paper odds here?

Feel free to make any excuses you want. Label me anything you wish. If you cant debate the math I provided then its fine. But hey.. mr 1 player can only make 5% impact...I get why you might want to shy away from actual math discussions given how You basically suck at math.

cTJay2 votes

oh geez why whine like this, just look at yourself and realize you were completely off point, you'll improve faster...

Kai Guy2 votes

Was my math wrong? Pretty easy. Yes or no

I also find it entertaining that you call my post out as whining. Let me return the favor. Look at yourself and realize this belongs in Rant section. Unlike you I don't think 9X5 = 95. Please Let me know if you need further help with basic multiplication.

Myrmiron1 votes

I'm playing this game for >a decade by now and I found that the closer you climb to your actual skill level the harder games will get and the more you'll feel at the mercy of your teammates. If you wish to climb further you can try to hope for luck or actually get better and then climb again until you meet players who're on your skill level again.

cTJay2 votes

would be nice if it worked that way but I've been playing way better than my elo for a while and never climbed at all. I've stayed the exact same elo forever. I'm outplaying every single opponent, I know exactly what to do, but it changes absolutely nothing, since the deadweights won't even simply follow.
