How did akali suddenly get so strong?

I don't recall any buffs to her recently but she suddenly seems really strong. Often assassins can take out one or two players before having no abilities left to use but I see akalis able to take down 4/5 players with ease, being full HP at the end of it.

I know she was recently strong due to her tank build but now I just see her normal hybrid build dominating.

Anyone else notice this?

I think they increased the range and speed of her dash in a few past patches. I don't think she is that strong, but she is stronger in the hands of competent players than in the past.
