A talk on Ekko

Okay, recently i've noticed that people here consider ekko a toxic champion. I disagree with this for a few reasons. Toxic champions are champions who either completely nullify a certain pick, think against most juggernauts, dominate a certain area of play completely while still being underpowered elsewhere, and in the LCS around MSI last year, or have literally no counterplay, old and come to mind. Ekko is none of these things, he doesn't even have "infinite free mobilty" since he is gated by mana and only one of them is target agnostic, since you need to have a target for the second part of his dash and his ult is, both telegraphed and only goes to one place that he was before. Why would he be considered toxic? aside from PTSD from the three tank ekko incidents its dead now

Ekko has several things that no assassin should have:

A massive shield (second only to Tahm Kench)
A stun, nevermind an AoE stun. I still recall Riot's crusade against assassins with hard cc about 3 seasons ago. Don't know why this was suddenly discarded
Healing. Unkillable bruiser assassins are game-breaking, but Ekko has basically the most powerful heal in the game

All 3 of those mechanics are game-breaking, but he has them all. THAT is the problem with Ekko

But ekko is a skirmisher, all of those guys have these. besides both the shield and the stun are heavily telographed, and are usually more zoning tool than actual threat

Ekko is an assassin. The only thing that makes him confusable with a skirmisher is that he's basically got sustained DPS by virtue of his far-too-short cooldowns. Sure, he goes in and out of a fight...and one-shots someone every time he does it before bullshitting his way back to total safety and doing it again in 5 seconds.

That's not skirmishing, that's just being an extremely overpowered assassin with no downtime
