Does Zoe really need hard cc?

This is an honest question.

I don't play Zoe so I wanted to know from people who do play her: if Zoe's e was changed to have a grounded effect instead of sleep would that gut the champ?

It could be changed from sleepy trouble bubble to sticky trouble bubble.

That would likely severely nerf the champion, yes. Q can be fairly hard to land against a skilled target, and I think if you made it a grounding ability it would nerf Zoe in the hands of those who need it LEAST (people who struggle to hit the Q) while not meaningfully changing her gameplay in the hands of skilled players (if you upped the slow) or nerfing her into oblivion (if you made it just grounding with no slow).

Odds are, yes.

From the few games I've played of her, and from what I've heard from others, her Q is just too damned hard to hit on a champion unless they're an 8-stack Cho'gath, pathetically slow, or you're shooting it over a wall that they're close to. You need your E to at least slow them massively so that you can actually land it, because her long-range Q is just so incredibly telegraphed that anyone who's slowed less than that can actually be hit.

Yes, but not the true damage

Any artillery mage has a form of hard CC, the issue with Zoe isn't her CC, it's the fact that she has damage shafted randomly everywhere in her kit

Like in her passive, which buffs her AA even she missed her Q or E... why r we rewarding that?

Same with her W, pointed severral times already, but it deals more damage than Ahri 's W when it's basically the same spell, with potentially no cooldown

Its like 300 damage. It being true damage limits how much it actually does, so it does less vs squishies.

Every mage has a cc, i dont see the problem except for the true damage for no reason...

Yes, she does. Her hard CC is the single weakest hard CC in the game, and its also the only reliable way to even land her q. She wouldnt function without it.
