I am sad.

Hey there, i have been playing League of Legends for 3+ years, maybe even 4+ years. I want to start this off saying that League of Legends is one of my , if not my favorite games, The art in LoL is AMAZING. I LOVE the character designs, i LOVE the lore, i LOVE the world LoL builds, but the game right now is making me so, so sad.

LoL motivated me to keep going on in Animation, it helped me get distracted on bad days, it helped me get distracted from life, but now, i need to play other games to distract myself from LoL.

League of Legends is amazing and the fact that a massive part of the community, including myself feel bad about this game now truly makes me feel sad. Ofcourse it's "just a game", but for me, it's not "just a game". LoL connects people, LoL inspires people, look at the thousands and thousands of pages of downright amazing art people have started making thanks to this game.

Every single game seems to be decided super fast, i have never seen so many people collectively give up in-game before, overall morale of the player-base has to be at an all-time low.

I just want to see something from Riot that says "We care and we want to fix this", but it doesn't seem like they do, since they recently published a post about how they think their game and botlane meta is in a "healthy and diverse" state right now.

I think the game as a whole could stand to be far more balanced and maybe add something so that snowballing is not as big of an issue, anything so you can catch up from behind easier, that is part of the issue once you get so far behind it feels like catching up is not possible so people quit.

The only reason they don't say whether they think the state of the game needs fixing or not is because players will decide if they want to stick around based on that kind of response. If Riot keep their statements vague and don't tell anyone what their end goal is, the players are more likely to keep playing, because there's a chance Riot will balance the game in a way they want.

If you look at just about every statement Riot has made, they're all essentially generic cookie cutter PR responses. That's intentional. If you make a definitive statement of any kind, people will leave. Riot wants to retain as many players as possible because, you know, that's where they earn money. The current state of the game is no different.
