Bronze placement again ? Seriously
So something on this rank system has got to give. When I was first introduced this game by a friend after i hit lvl 30 we went straight to ranked. Which was damned fooish. I got waffle stomped. and placed in bronze 4 or 5. cant remember. I was a noob though so no biggy. Sad thing was I was already better than bronzies and had no problem climbing just shy of silver in my spare time. Im very much a grown working adult so a game or two a day is all i can afford to give.
Then last season I did my placements and they went extremely well. And I was dropped into bronze 1 where i left off. There I was able to climb out of bronze in 10 games including the promo into silver. Having taking on a new position at work I was content to end my season there in silver 5.
This season I avoided ranked for quite some time while I taught a pair of new housemates this game. Just last week housemate, whom i introduced to this game just a few months ago decided to dive into ranked to see where he stood. He got humbled by ranked, going a paultry 4-6 in his placements but! got placed in silver 5. So i then just finished my own placements of which i went 6-4~ not the strongest showing. And I genuinely would of been 7-3 overall if not for a horribly timed drop of internet service in my last game. none the less, I was placed bronze 2.
I cant imagine how this is supposed to add up~ My friend, who is new to the game. Placed hella worse than I did and is genuinely in no way better than me in this game now sits several ranked tiers above me. And this is because I supported (poorly albiet, we will call it. "Suppoorting") during bad placement matches back in season 2 or 3 ?
Absolutely rediculous. I've done nothing but improve at this game. I'm not some guy who came here to rant about Elo hell which does and does not exist. Im not entertaining fantasies. I wasnt expecting much if any advancement from my placements. And if it was bronze 1 I probably would be in game right now working on that. But here is the thing, the reason I play games is the mark of improvement i can trace. That's while I'll always be in love with RPG elements and racing games where every won race can mean a part squeezing a few more HP out of some clunker i started the game with.
League is really starting to starve me of that. I'm simply not a kid, or a man child~ That can dedicate 6+ matches a day to climb several divisions and tiers in a season. Aint nobody got time for that. And in bronze ? I get consistently better teams from normals. Bronze is a toxic cess pit of dice rolls. The solution seems pretty easy, Rank a new account to lvl 30~ put everything into its placement matches and get a silver-gold placement. After all most my high tier friends (I got a few in diamond and quite a few in plat) agree im a low plat skill lvl with low gold/high silver consistency. Seems doable but yeaaaaa, I own every champion and 100+ skins and a bad ass name imho~ so no chance I'm starting all over.
So yea, I just about uninstalled the game I felt so done with this dance. Even looked on Ebay to see what an account like mine goes for out of curiosity. I just cant get into a game that's gonna hold a new guy with terrible placements on a higher pedestal than the guy he is learning the game from. Can I climb out of bronze ? psh, yup. Dont wanna though. Shouldn't have too. My Sith apprentice has proven Riot almost needs you to prove you belong in bronze as a punishment. They dont even send new people there! And i get it. A few YEARS AGO I WAS BAD?!@?!@#!$ But can I get those damned records expunged ? Can i go on through my league life without judgment for being such a bad leona years ago.
Just needed to rant before I did something irrational. I guess in closing all I really had to say was, Id really like to know where I place among the pool of talent that plays this game. But if i gotta start from the bottom every season than I will never know what that level is, and that strips most if not all desire to play this game from me.
