There is no reason to penalize players with a D/C on their team

Why are we given a loss if there's a D/C on our team? In DotA 2, if 5 minutes elapse with a player disconnected, the game goes unscored and you are free to leave without penalty. In League, you have to play 4v5 and pretend it's fair. Sure, you MIGHT be able to win, I know I have once or twice, but how rare is that? It's actually reprehensible that this has gone on for this long, Riot.

It could work so long as the player to disconnect receives a loss penalty in addition to a report sent and a possibility of suspension or ban. Otherwise, players could just abuse the system and DC just to save their team a loss.

It should only apply to leagues that are Silver (Maybe Gold) or higher, however. That way multi-accounters with unlimited gaming funds cannot simply use this system to troll lower tiers.

It's like they won't do it because DOTA is doing it.

I think leaving a game or afking a game should result in an auto ban from ranked for a certain time and consistent leaves/afks should result in having the 'ranked game' restriction where you must complete x normal draft games and win before being able to play ranked again.

because leaving a game just ruins games man...

That's not how it works. You're confusing early abandon and safe to leave. Early abandon works like you said: Player never connects for the first few minutes, game becomes safe to leave and isn't scored. However, past the first few minutes, it's only safe to leave: The game becomes safe to leave if someone is AFK or DC'd for 5 minutes but is still scored.

i think riot should just have loss forgiven when someone is afk in ranked. that would be cool.

I really think this would solve a lot of problems.

I agree, this is a perfect solution. It is a great idea whether it is from Dota or not, it will make the game so much more fun.

People will abuse the system and climb easily, your duo partner would only have to leave the game if things look sour.

I disagree so much. A skilled player is one who can easily adapt and reexamine their previous strats and change them. 4v5s are an easy win for those who can adapt and think whilst playing.

could be abused by duo partners, one guy "takes it for the team" and disconnects his internet. Also, teams would harass a player constantly throughout the game far worse if they do badly, then also chose to stay in the game, rather than dc.
