Frozen Heart on Manaless Bruisers

I've been building Frozen Heart recently on almost all my bruisers, because it's super cheap and gives great stats. Even without the mana, it basically has the same armor as Thornmail, the sweet sweet 20% CDR, and the nice Atk Spd debuff. So recently, I've experimented with FH on champs like Renekton, Riven, and Gnar. I've liked it quite a bit - especially on Renekton, I don't see why I shouldn't build it considering how awesome CDR is on him, but how hard it is to cap out CDR on him in a normal item build.

If it's working for you, hey, do it. Mana is probably the cheapest stat in the game at the moment so you're not setting yourself back by much.

You're still setting yourself back though, by more than the mana Lich Bane/Tri Force sets back manaless champions that have grabbed those in the pro scene.

I'd probably go Warden's Mail and Brutalizer for CDR/Armor/AS debuff on those guys instead (or just tons of AD on Riven), but nothing's more satisfying than beating the crap out of your opponents with the most unconventional builds.

Yeah, I've been feelin it man. For example, in a Renekton full build, the choice is generally between Frozen Heart and Thornmail... now, Thornmail passive is amazing, but so is Frozen Heart (especially against multiple AD champs), and the 20% CDR is SO good on Renekton. With a Brutalizer and masteries, you're almost at CDR cap. Especially for a dude like Renekton, whose DPS & mobility lives and dies by his cooldowns, I just think it's too good to pass up.
