Refund lost LP for the games happening during 8:40-9:00 PST

I got loss prevention in my final 5v5 team placement match, and it still counted the match and placed us in Silver II? What I'd like to know @Lyte is why we got screwed out of a game and the game counted for our placement. When I did my solo queue promotion (early this morning) and got loss prevention, it didn't count the game at all; so why did one count and the other didn't?
