Do you think the recent changes to mages itemization was enough for more control mages to be taken in the lcs and other pro leagues? if not are there any plans to help them more? Other ideas I've had are a added bonus to levels of the main wave clearing mechanics like lets say brand w would have a +5% bonus damage to minions at rank 1 +10% at rank 2 ect to +25% at rank 5 or even just giving the +25% at rank 5 only at rank 5 not scaling it up same with lux's e ori's w ect. Another idea is giving them +5 movement speed at level 11 and +10 movement speed at level 16 to scale with ludens specifically to help with their lack of movement spells late game.

If I had to guess, I'd say that recent buffs to Rylai's and Movement Speed changes to Luden's Echo may be enough to prop up one or two of the more immobile mages into competitive-level play, but I don't think it's likely that the meta shifts to immobile control mages mid, since a lot of other mages also get good benefit from the same changes.

so your saying its completely meta based, so may I ask what meta would it work it? ive been watching lcs since mid saeason 4~ and the only control mages ive rlly seen played a lot is

  1. viktor and that's because he has a move speed buff and slow that can be a stun with massive burst,
  2. ori amazing kit, and
  3. azirs op range with an escape.
  4. xereth when his numbers were too high. through the different metas ive yet to see any of these mages and I think we have been through all other metas in that time
  5. tank and fighter/carry metas in top and jngl and
  6. both supportive/carry adcs and
  7. peeling/engage supports. and in mid its been
  8. assassins zed/talon(in worlds be4 silence nerf)/ahri
  9. and a few control mages like ori/vik/azir/xer but for poke long range damage the teams rate
  10. immobile poke champs like varus and jayce over long range poke mages(brand lux malza(his q poke is crazy dmg and range) ziggs why is this? and what can be done to fix this?

tl;dr moment from attack to moment attack hits minions is faster the buff they gave kata in patch 5.3 as mages wont be AA kiting like adc's this wont give them crazy power but give them a little help in AA farming in the early game before they have their wave clear up to full speed
