Even if we can't get all the Sightstone variations we're asking for, can we at least get...

... a mana version?

Please, item 2049 builds out of item 1028, so can we please PLEASE have a version that builds out of item 1027? The two basic items are the exact same cost, sightstone wouldn't even have to change in price.

I'm asking particularly due to the changes of Soraka, a champion that is hurt by buying sightstone, yet somewhat forced to when playing support. A lot of spell-casting supports Lulu Morgana Lux Sona would benefit a lot from this, just like how tank/diving supports benefit just a bit more from normal sightstone.

Please Riot? Would it really be hard to have at least a mana version of Sightstone? It'd be neat for a lot of supports, and it would stop being an unhealthy interaction with Soraka (something that I hear you try to avoid?).

Really don't understand why this hasn't happened. This does nothing but positive things for laning as more AP supports will be prone to buy into this.

I see no reason not to, but saying Soraka's hurt by building health is still wrong.

The worst thing that happens is that supports start building the mana sightstone and feeding because they don't value health enough (I fully expect this to happen, btw).

It does hurt Soraka a bit, tho.

Her heal costs 10% of her health, and her Q won't heal as much % of her health. It's not efficient for her. Not to mention that Q is incredibly easy to dodge, and every health counts for her.

Nobody builds health on Soraka for a reason, only flat defenses. Main reason you never see Ruby Sightstone on Soraka. Mana is a much more valuable stat on her. Some kind of sapphire sightstone would synergize with most of the support items, considering they give mana regen, and help AP supports especially without boosting their stats (health synergizes with tanky supports just a bit more, for the obvious reasons).

I usually try to build health regen soraka (i.e. Warmongs/Spirit Visage) because my entire goal is to not be fighting so the warmongs passive will always be on and its a bit more reliable than trying to land a q.

Disclaimer: I don't play Soraka a ton so maybe I'm just silly.

Not a terrible tactic, those are the health items that benefit her, so I'll give you that.

I prefer to get into the fray, building defenses so I can get up in everyone's business. Since everybody focuses Soraka for good reason, I can usually bait a carry out, silence them to prevent a flash, then exhaust them so my team can obliterate them. I typically have to pop my ult to save myself, but that only helps more in a teamfight. No AP built, but I make up for it with 40% cdr and a huge mana pool (Frozen heart is your friend).

I never tried Warmogs/Spirit Visage on her due to my health allergy. Is it really that good? I could try it on AP Soraka if you recommend it.

Its more of a back line healer style. I feel that it makes it so that I have the resources to heal when needed.

You never see ruby sightstone on anyone because it's not worth the upgrade from normal sightstone.

I see Soraka build just as much health as other ranged supports too. I mean, Janna/Nami/Lulu aren't exactly stacking health either.

Typically... yeah. >.>

Maybe on tanky supports, though. They still benefit from it reasonably, especially late-game.

Yes but their kits don't actively punish them for building that health. The major argument for not adding more sightstones is that health is a desirable stat on everyone, so even if it's not the best why bother adding more options? However while it's not completely awful on her, health is a somewhat negative stat on Soraka , which kind of throws that argument out the window.

warmogs is an exception, because it gives insane amounts of regen.

People keep recommending that one, so I'll go check it out.

I tend to build flat defenses, cdr, and mana, so I just spam the shit out of Q. Is Warmogs better with a defensive build, or an utility AP build?

IMO, it's much better with a defensive. I feel defensive raka is better than utility ap raka 9 times out of 10 anyways. Warmogs gives you enough regen to build defensive.

I feel like a mana version of sightstone is useless. I much prefer the health benefit that let me survive longer in lane and health will scale into the late game much better than mana is going to be on a support. Managing mana isn't hard either. Takes some practice/getting used to, but once you learn, mana isn't big of a problem on support.

Besides, your mana problem should be gone after laning phase where most of the time you'll have some kind of mana/mana regen item like righteous glory, frozen heart, mikael, talisman, etc.

I'm not saying delete health sightstone, I'm saying we should have options for both.

And Soraka gets hurt by this "health benefit" objectively, so it isn't really fair to her. Not to mention a lot of champions would benefit a slightly higher mana pool early game.

I think options would be 100% better than having only one option that benefits certain supports more, especially since it penalizes Soraka in particular (which is a very unhealthy interaction, and one Riot should have thought about).

I know you're not saying to delete sightstone.

I'm saying that the mana version on sightstone would be useless because of reasons I stated above.

Riot can try to add it but i doubt it will be a popular item on support

Soraka is a big mess imo. I don't like her kit/play her enough to say anything else

Might be popular for a lot of the AP supports, especially since sightstone already gives beneficial stats to tanky supports who can use it a bit better.

I'd like to at least see it on PBE and see if it's popular enough for people to buy.
